McCain is best.

I have nothing against Obama.........if he wins, I wish him the best of luck.

But he is far too liberal.........and he has a voting record that reveals his philosophy to be the absolute antithesis of my personal beliefs.........he voted to ban handguns in Illinois, he voted in support of partial birth abortion. In addition, he is sliding towards the centre so fast, abandoning principles left and right.........he claims now to "support the Second Amendment" (what, did he just learn to read?), he shifted to support the "pardon" for telecommunications companies in league with Bush......and on and on. He is NOT bi-partisan, despite his talk about bringing people together......

McCain has a history of working well with both parties, he is more of a unifying force than Obama ever dreamed f being. He has been cast into the fire, and proven he is a man that will stand on principle despite devastating personal cost. You have to admire that.

He supported the surge when it was wildly unpopular..........when told his support for that action would cost him the nomination he replied "I'd rather lose an election than a war" Not your usual politician.

And the surge worked, to the benefit of Obama, who can now crow about bringing the troops home.

In addition, McCain's policies are much closer to my own ideals.

McCain it is, IMHO.

I think McCain is best as well. Obamas still lucid and camera friendly and all the women have the hots for him therefore he'll make an extremely dangerous American commander in chief.

McCain will be 72 years old in August. If elected he will try to give us four more years of Bush policies, by which time he will be well past his 76th birthday. The U.S. needs Obama more than it needs four more years of McCain doing what Bush has been doing.

As an aside, a American lady of some means tried to rent a car in southern France last Christmas, and was refused.......so she bought one, and toured the southern provinces on her own, before shipping the car to the USA, then driving 5000 klicks home in it.

She was 95 at the time.

She is also John McCain's mother.

If that is so (I have no link) and if genetics mean anything, 72 is young.......

Obama for sure. Obama is going to bring about a much needed health care system in the states, among other things. He seems to genuinely care about the well being of the population.

I would think Obama would be better than McCain simply because what I have heard from him has been more focused on what's going on within the US than away from the US. McCain would just be another Bush, IMO.
It has been written that if a president doesn't want to deal with internal issues, he/she will invariably find things outside the US that are more important. And the odd president has even "created" more important things to do outside of the US ( El Salvador & Iraq come to mind). It's pure escapism.

I'm not sure about that, it is more like the old conflict in the USA.....isolationist or involved?

they get crap either way........the isolationist USA gets it for being late into WWII, the interventionist USA gets it for Iraq.......

BTW, McCain is not Bush.

And, BTW (as I seem to have been appointed McCain's sole defender), McCain actually knows where Canada is, and speaks of us like a friend and ally.

Not even close.

Third, fourth, fifth choice doesn't matter. POTUS IS A FIGURE HEAD like QE2.

Only the names change, policy by the "real" government does not!

Uh-huh.

Perhaps you would be kind enough to explain the "real" gov't to we poor unfortunates that don't understand the complex inner workings of the universe......
