Liberal Journalists at it again..............

The Russian MP who lit the Olympic torch tweeted a racist picture of the Obamas

Racism is rife in Russia, and black football players often face racial abuse involving bananas. In 2011, the Brazilian Roberto Carlos, playing for Russian team Anzhi Makhachkala, left the pitch in anger after a banana was thrown at him from the stands. In a separate incident, the club Zenit St Petersburg was fined the equivalent of about £6,300 when a fan offered Carlos a banana before a match.

Rodnina, who lived in the US for many years, deleted the photograph but has not apologised and remains unfazed by accusations of racism. Instead, she suggested that the wave of criticism she prompted from liberal journalists and other Russians was a conspiracy.

Jenny Jones has made British sporting history after becoming the first British person in the history of humanity to win a medal, in any event and any competition, on the snow. She won a bronze in the snowboarding. Never before have we won a medal in any snow event.

Great Britain are hoping to beat their 2010 total medal tally of 1 medal. And we've already equalled that after just two days.

From chalet maid to Sochi bronze medallist: Snowboarder Jenny Jones, 33, wins the first ever Olympic medal on the snow for Britain (a country lacking in Alpine landscapes)

The 33-year-old, from Bristol, managed what no Briton had achieved in 90 years of Winter Olympics going back to the Chamonix Games of 1924 - winning a medal on snow. She had to endure an agonising 20-minute wait after finishing her second and final run while 10 of her rivals took to the slopes in their attempts to beat her score. Jones is pictured (left) on her board riding to glory, celebrating her medal (centre) on the podium (right) and with her parents (inset), who surprised her after the medal ceremony. Jones, who started snowboarding aged 17 when her local dry slope was offering free lessons, was toppled off gold-medal spot by Finland's Ennu Rukajarvi, who finished with silver, and the gold medal winner, America's Jamie Anderson.

Russia hoarded 400,000 tons of snow for over a year so it could save the Olympics this week

The palm trees lining the boulevards give it away: It can get pretty warm in Sochi. In fact, it hit a high of 61°F (16°C) in the city yesterday, and wasn’t much cooler today. Even higher temperatures are forecast for later this week. +

Of course, temperatures are much chillier up in the mountains, and despite some grumbles about the mushiness of the snow, the Olympic alpine events have so far gone off without a hitch. But officials are worried about the mush turning to slush, so they have dipped into vast stockpiles of powder squirreled away over the past two winters, it was reported today. +

That’s right: Sochi tapped its strategic snow reserve. Around 710,000 cubic meters (25 million cubic feet) of snow have been hoarded near the skiing and snowboarding venues, shielded from the elements by thick reflective blankets designed to keep the powder intact. These stockpiles became tourist attractions in themselves during the summer. At 400-600 kilograms per cubic meter, we’re looking at a mid-range guess of 355,000 tonnes (391,000 tons) of the white stuff.

Based on gold medalist Jamie Anderson's evaluation, those 100,000 free condoms may not be enough.

The 23-year-old women's slopestyle snowboarding champion told US Weekly that the use of Tinder -- a location-based dating app that's been known to facilitate casual encounters and has created more than 500 million matches in a Facematch-style "hot or not" user experience -- has reached epic proportions in Sochi.

"Tinder in the Olympic Village is next level," Anderson told the weekly magazine with a reported laugh. "It's all athletes! In the mountain village it's all athletes. It's hilarious. There are some cuties on there."

Anderson's Tinder addiction reached such a height that she quit cold turkey. "There was a point where I had to be like OK, this is way too distracting," she added. "I deleted my account to focus on the Olympics."

That didn't appear to be the case for New Zealand snowboarder Rebecca Torr, who failed to qualify for the finals in women's slopestyle. Before arriving in Russia, she made her Tinder intentions clear.

Apparently, the Olympic Village Daily quickly picked up on her tweet and distributed it as front-page news to the 7,000 athletes. By Saturday, Torr proclaimed, "Tinder is on form here in Sochi," publicly stating her desire to meet the Jamaican bobsledding team through the dating app. On Sunday, Torr finished 10th in the slopestyle competition, and a correlation between Tinder use and Olympic success began to develop.

I don't know what's more bizarre, the cops hat or the fact they still use whips.

Freakin Putin really hates criticism.

Of course there have been a number of journalists eliminated over the Putin years so I'm surprised ***** Riot members haven't had an a 'accident' yet............
