Hate to tell you, but most of the rockets used to orbit things in space were developed for military use first.

You are REALLY reaching in your efforts to villify, aren't you?

Everything I say is completely consistent and understandable if you perceive my objective. It doesn't matter what Barack Obama and the American Left do. They are always wrong. No exceptions.

Indeed, we all perceive that is your point of view.

You don't bother with reality, it's too complicated. Feel free to put me on your 'ignore list', but make sure to say so, like any 4 year old would do.

You disagree with what?

Obama has a vision of a world free of nuclear weapons. But at the same time he resurrects conventional weapons programs that were had ebbed into research and development backwaters. That's what happened to PGS. In the process he is seeking to bring new weapons systems online that will have the net effect of militarizing space and setting off a new arms race.

Please realize, I want to see a weak federal govt. that is incapable of imposing its domestic agenda on me or anyone else. Part of having a weak federal govt. is having one incapable of projecting power. Conservatives like myself want to disempower the federal govt.

And how does that not jive with his nuclear weapon free world ideal?

Seems he's being consistent here.

Good for you, all the power to you in your endeavors.

It would be nice if you stuck to reality while you did it though.

Are you familiar with Saul Alinsky's Rules For Radicals? They are the tactics which the left employed to bring Barack Obama to power and to disempower those on the right. Those tactics are incredibly effective. Barack Obama and all other community organizers utilize those tactics.

I saw how effective those tactics were, and decided to employ them myself. I am not alone. That is why the American left is now fighting for its figurative life.

No he isn't. Prompt Global Strike involves the militarization of space and the use of hypersonic weapons capable of reaching any target on earth within less than one hour. That creates instability, not equilibrium.

How is that not consistent with his anti nuclear weapon agenda?

Wouldn't be the first time. In any event, he and I will never speak again.
That's all well and good, but given your penchant for being abrasive and sensitive, you'll be talking to yourself in no time.

Only America will have Prompt Global Strike capability for many years imo. That upsets the balance of power.
Are you kidding?

America is pretty much the only super power as it is. This is just another clip in the holster.

You're probable right. When that happens I'll move on.

America has lost the will to be a superpower. The character of the American people won't sustain that status. The same thing has happened to other great powers. Look at Great Britain in 1945.

The doctrine of his side had to be defeated.
OK, now it's doctrine.

Before it was "way of life".

Which is it?

I've been down south, the way of life is pretty much the as you would expect it to have changed over the years, I still see some of that stereotypical "Southern" charm and hospitality. So their way of life wasn't destroyed.

And what doctrine are you speaking of?

Because like I said, I still see a whole lotta south, in the South.

You're probable right. When that happens I'll move on.
It's your choice.

America has lost the will to be a superpower.
Really?

Pretty soon, you'll be able to say "Nobody can see me"

You can find me under different monikers commenting over here:

Belmont Club and here: Works and Days

Really?

A way of life based on an economy of human chattels. A doctrine that was the intellectual underpinning for inequality.

No, it's CC's choice.

Really.

The powers that be frown upon noobs posting links to other forums.

Just a friendly warning.

Ya, the whole plantation thing was a myth.

Thanks for the heads up. But those aren't really forums in the same sense that CC is a community. Those sites are ideological headquarters for the downward transmission of ideas. CC is a community composed of people with differing ideas. Neither site I mentioned is in any way in competition with CC.

Why do you say it was a myth?

I didn't. You insinuated it was when you said ther=ir economy was based on slavery.

It very much was a part of their economy, but it was not the base.

If it were, the south would have dried up and blown away in the dust...

Gawd damn I love a Georgia peach.

You could be right, but I don't think so. Slavery was becoming outmoded until Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin. Then it once again became cost effective, and slavery spread west. Missouri compromise. Kansas Bloody Kansas. Poor whites shared the ideology of white superiority. They fought to preserve it.

Slavery came to America in 1612. It was interwoven into the fabric of the country.
