Don't you think that suggestion should be addressed to the leftist hero Barack Obama who has doubled troop strength in his war in Afghanistan?
HIS war? You think Afghanistan is Obama's war? He's trying to honour an international NATO and UN sanctioned commitment his nation made under a previous administration. Seriously dude, what reality are you living in?

...Seriously dude, what reality are you living in?

A reality in which American men and women are fighting and sometimes dying in a war that long ago ceased to have clear and definable objectives, a strategy, years of time within which to wage a counterinsurgency/nationbuilding strategy, and the resources necessary to achieve victory.

The counterinsurgency campaign began last year, with withdrawal beginning in a few months, and complete withdrawal scheduled for late 2014. But counterinsurgency campaigns usually take at least ten years in order to be successful. Obama's team announced today that the war might just have to go on after the 2014 date Obama set for complete withdrawal.

America is insolvent, is borrowing money from China to fight in Afghanistan, and the American people will not allow this debacle to continue for another decade. That means victory as it is customarily understood in a counterinsurgency sense will not be possilbe. In turn, that means that the soldiers and marines are being sent to fight a war they will not be allowed to win due to lack of time and resources.

To send soldiers and marines into combat without the hope of achieving victory is profoundly immoral. Perhaps that's why Obama never talks about the war.

It never had clear and definable objectives at the beginning. But you can hardly call it Obama's war.

Would be a good thing for all if we all pulled out of Afghanistan, and Iraq, and left them to their own devices.

We now have Liberal commentators (Bob Rae) saying we need to support overthrowing Ghaddafi. In my opinion, we need to stay out. Let the will of the people have its way.

So quit sending your military to meddle in other peoples affairs.

That's a pretty strong statement considering that the international community looks to the US military to act as the global police.

Didn't Obama run on an election platform that included the withdraw of troops from the ME, close Gitmo, etc.? Hell it doesn't generate much confidence when a Nobel prize winner for peace doubles his assets in a nation where they were supposed to be out of.

Obama has obviously surrounded himself with bad advisors. Seems to me I heard he is using the same bozos as Bush. Tells me he is not much more than a clone for the military/industrial complex.
