Quite often in the past, a so-called madman has become the focal point/ lightning rod of a disgruntled, disenfranchised group.
The Silence Breakers are now on the cover of Time Magazine. The original cause was right. But I find the pendulum has swung way too far the other way...men losing their jobs and careers over allegations from decades ago, for pretty marginal transgressions.
I can see some mild-mannered fellow working at say, Pete's Paint shop losing his job over just such a specious allegation...not being able to support his family...and lashing back at his accuser or worse. The Montreal massacre was a 'correction' in the mind of the nutter who perpetrated the act. He felt feminists had gone too far.
I can envision a day, perhaps in the near future where some guy is going to get railroaded by this movement, grab a weapon and cause some serious damage to a group of women. I hope it doesn't happen, but i think this is what it might take to move the needle back to the middle. Reckless allegations will be met with reckless violence.
Thoughts?
