I'm sorry but I still don't see the population or corporate base in Winnipeg to support a team without a continuous injection of tax dollars from various levels of gov't. Its not that I wouldn't like to see it, but I just don't see the numbers adding up. Same goes for QC. I agree that the Coyotes need out of Phoenix and some of the other markets are in the same position but I see a lot more sense in another team (or two) in southern Ontario before other spots in Canada. Hell in some ways a team in the Okanagan makes more sense than Winnipeg...

You can't just think of WPG as athe sole source of fan base. There is another million in SK, five million in Minnesota, 650K in North Dakota and another 100K in North ON that would love to have a team back in WPG.

Northern Ontario,
Every time I read the header on this thread "Back to Winnipeg" I think back on something that happened maybe 40 yrs ago in the Mill.
I was sitting in the smoking area with this guy, when he says. Im pooped.... all night I dreamed I was driving to Winnipeg then Back to Kap (Kapuskasing) then to Winnipeg and back to Kap........

I told him....I'm tired too....I dreamed I was with two beautiful women and I was all alone with them all night...

So.. he asks me...Why didn't you call me to help???

I told him..."I did but every time I called you...you were gone to Winnipeg"

That's when the rest of the guys in the smoking area, who had been listening to us realised they'd been had:smile:

I heard from two sources that Winnipeg may be called the Falcons. There is a lot of history surrounding that name.
