Mongoloid doesn't mean Mongolian looking features it means ugly or retarded. But by all means keep assuming you know me its quite entertaining.

Mongoloid, Caucasoid, Negroid... they all refer to 'races'. It was just a funny response to attempt to disprove xenophobia. Never mind... you obviously don't get why it was funny.

And you still presume to know me. I'm pretty sure there's other peoples nuts you could be riding around here, so hop off.

I don't know you. Where did I say that. As for your nuts... I really don't care about them (in other words, carry on polishing them yourself). It was a funny wording issue's all.

Still trying to have the last word eh. Must be hard being weighed down by that huge e-peen of yours. No wonder you can leave the PC.

There are several establishments here that offer a dinner and a movie deal. We did that at our favourite place, 2 dinners and with pint or highball for about $27, not bad. We've not been to a show in over a year so we decided to see Avitar last night. My oldest daughter was eager to come along. She'd already seen it in Aus. (it opened there 3 weeks earlier than here, hmmm), and loved enought to see it again... and again. The earlier show was sold out but we were taking in the later one anyway, they charged an extra $3 over and above the "freebies", regular price was $13, but what the heck.

I think the earlier show was at the IMAX, but in retrospect, that may have been a bit too much for me. The only 3 seats together were in the front row of a regular theatre. I thought, "great", I hate sitting that close, but at least I didn't need my glasses, they won't fit under the 3D goggles they give you. I but I was pleasantly suprised.

I wouldn't wait to see this on your TV as it would lose much of its impact, and sitting that close we had to resist the urge to swat at the things floating in the air and stomp on the burning embers . It was certainy impressive in that regard. It's an experience that loses its greatest effect the farther back you sit according to #1 daughter.

The only black and white was the cliche'd and stereotypical good guy bad guy/good race, bad race allusions, but hey, all films have heros and villians, right? It seems Cameron also kinda likes the tough Latin chicks. I thought Michelle Rodreguez was type cast from Lost, but there was also "Vasquez" in Aliens, another of Cameron's creations, (guess he likes Sigourney Weaver too ;-)) but I won't give away any spoilers.

All in all, in my opinion, (and many others' apparently) good entertainment on the big screen from a guy from Kapuskasing, wow, just getting people to say it right is an effort . Oh well, good thing he isn't from Manitouwadge or he'd probably still be there.

I saw it Friday and Saturday. Might see it again tonight. Probably won't get to see it in a theater again (movies only run for three days in this little town, and are gone forever). Apart from the plot being a Hollywood cliche in so many ways, the over all message is one near and dear to my heart: honouring our connection to the web of life.

As a metaphor for the history European conquest of the Americas, Cameron took liberties to rewrite the outcome, which I think is one of the main reason it resonates with so many people on such a deep emotional level. And the vision of the world he has created is nothing short of stunning.

Without going into the skewed politics of Hollywierd, it could also be seen as a metaphor for the failed NAZI march through Europe and beyond, or the attempted Japanese conquest of the Pacific. No continent has been immune from conquests by one group or another. We could have been occupied by the nations that control the southern part of this continent and all of Central and South America. Seems everyone wants to come North, the only ones headed South either have return tickets, or are fleeing the law . Each will get their own message from it, but in any case, I'm glad I didn't wait 'till it came out on the small screen.

According to the IMDB boards most males that watched it got a hard on from the Navi woman, w/e her name was. /shudder.

Those males who got hardons over Navi have some issues in my view. The Navi chicks don't even have any boobs to speak of, nor do you see any butt or crotch shots. The most nakedness you see from them is leg and torso, big deal.

Sailor Moon has more and better nakedness than Avatar does. The Sailor Moon characters have boobs, butts, and you see them in the show too, including crotch shots.

If you can't get aroused without seeing crotch, I think there's an issue.

Different people find different things attractive. To pretend there is something wrong with people who find grace, long legs, large eyes, defined collar bones, etc., sexy, is flawed.

Hear Hear....I agree......Big butts and big boobs would have been woefully out of place in this movie.

Oh I'm sorry. I didn't realise alot of males find gace, large eyes, and collar bones sexy. How could I have missed that. After all I'm a male myself, and I have alot of male friends and I talk to alot of males too. When males get together they talk, at times, about what they find sexy and what gets them hard. I guess when guys say boobs, butts, legs, stomachs, smooth skin, and sense of humour, to name a few, they actually mean large eyes, grace and collar bones.

Wow, thank you so much for your knowledge of what alot of guys get aroused on, it really opend my eyes to your vast knowledge of the guy mentality. Now can you tell me what guys really think about every six seconds?

Oh, sorry... you were talking about guys. I was merely pointing out that MEN often find things other than butts boobs and crotch, to be attractive too. Not strictly the few things I named. There is a lot more to a person than a crotch (thank god).

I think it is a young guy thing. It takes a few years experience to appreciate the finer things in life: graceful hand gestures, lips, head movement, intelligence, humour, walk, dance, etc. Younger men (generalizing of course) are kinda like monkeys on the make. Wanna boink any eye candy that will stand still long enough.

I have just unapproved a post in here as it was over the line. The thread is about the movie Avatar, and if you cannot keep to the topic then steer clear of the thread.

Yeah, but some guys never get to that stage where bimbettes are more of an annoyance than anything, take Hef for example, he must be yours and my age combined . But as my daddy used to say, "de gustibus non est disputandem".
