So all drivers both good and bad are going to be penalized 8% to cover the damage and mayhem caused by a few. Wouldn't it be far less intrusive to merely get the offending culprits off the road altogether and leave the good drivers alone. That way costs would be far less but more important our roads would be much safer. I don't know if this is an N.D.P. initiative but whoever is behind it should realize it's a hare-brained idea. Instead, lets begin by taking the worst 15% of drivers off the road and leave the other 85% alone.

ICBC rate increases will cost average driver $130 more each year, attorney general says - British Columbia - CBC News

In the govt's eyes, reducing the no. of paying clients reduces revenues. Declining revenues are bad. They make more than they pay out.

My personal belief is that ICBC punishes everyone equally. The irresponsible drivers lose less. They are not held fully accountable. Sharing the pain equally is a socialist POV.

When I lived on the Island, insurance went up every year. I do not recall exactly what I was paying, but it was approx. $900/yr. For one veh., a Magicwagon, withe the full 40% discount.

I was transferred to Ontario and my ins. dropped to $606/yrly. A 30% change. Crazy.

Interesting. It sounds like Sask has a handle on things. Or it simply be that there are fewer cars on the road. :)

And you're a clown.

A$$hole!

that's it? per month?

Ranked: yearly auto insurance costs by province | Insurance Business

Province Auto Insurance Costs for the year ending March 31, 2015
British Columbia $1,717
Alberta $2,897
Saskatchewan $1,163
Manitoba $1,211
Ontario $5,567
Quebec $1,364
New Brunswick $1,849
Nova Scotia $1,887
Prince Edward Island $1,937
Newfoundland $1,933

I have a feeling oranges and apples are being compared in there! No?

Couldn't tell you but my truck costs me half as much in SK than it did in BC.

There's a good reason for that - run of the road in Sk. you might wipe out 1/2 an acre of wheat, in B.C. you'd wipe out your vehicle and a $million worth of real estate! :) :)
