I wonder what the Aussies think about having a British Prime Minister? Mrs Gillard was born in Wales but emigrated to Australia as a young girl after she contracted pneumonia and her doctor told her to move to a warmer climate.

There was a joke going around about Thatcher. I may have told it before but I think it bears retelling.

Mrs. Thatcher and her cabinet ministers went to a restaurant for dinner. The waiter came to take the order. Mrs. Thatcher placed her order.

“A steak, medium rare with baked potato.”

“What about your vegetables?”

“Oh, they will have fish and chips.”

She won the second term purely because of Falklands war. Before the war, she was going down to defeat.

That joke is from the British comedy series Spitting Image, which fran from 1984 to 1996 which used puppets to parody celebrities and politicians.

The only poll that is correct is the poll on election day.

That can't be more true. Polls in the run-up to the 2015 UK General Election predicted a Hung Parliament: the Tories won (their first General Election win since 1992, believe it or not). Polls predicted a Remain win in the EU in/out referendum: Leave won.

But it might also mean, unfortunately, that because all the polls predict a landslide victory for the Brexit Party on Thursday it'll actually be a landslide victory for Chuka's ChUKas.

I'm sure this has Justin sweating if he hasn't already written off his chances in November.

Scott Morrisson is a professing Christian, an AGW denier, a social Conservative who has intimated that he might sanction Rugby Australia for banning the immensely respected Israel Folau (a devout Evangelical) from the National Team and the Saracens Rugby Union Club for stating on his personal website that practicing homosexuals and putting their salvation in jeopardy. Personally i think the latter might have contributed to Morrisson's reelection in Sports and Rugby obsessed Australia.

It's all turning against Jusitin's witchcraft and New Age. Some sunlight and reason is seeping back into the West after decades of encroaching darkness and madness.

A Prime Minister who was supposed to lose wins instead.

I can only see that making Trudeau happy.

I see a rout coming. I'm not sure i trust our brand of post-Christian, post-progressive, post-patriotic brand of NeoCon Conservatives. But basicly anything would be better than what we got.

I'm getting confused about this gender shit, but I'm sure that entity on T.V. who was celebrating the Prime Minister ship was a male.

There is no way the conservatives are going to rout anyone in Canada.

Their ideology is not what Canada wants

Don't bet your first born! I'm kind of thinking the Tories will get in and maybe with a majority. What's Trudeau going to win? Maybe a dozen seats! I'd be surprised if the N.D.P. and Bloc combined win 100 seats and the Green might be good for 10 or a dozen.

I had Trudeau's "true colours" pegged, mainly because of my age and having a 16 year dose of his old man but I didn't figure the women's and youth would be as strong. This time everyone knows the asshole! I'd be flabbergasted if he got any First Nation's vote. Out of decency to the Liberal Party, he should resign and appoint a new leader. Unless it was to be Jody Wilson - Raybould, I don't think they'd have a ghost of a chance.

Well the thing about Canada is that you don't really vote for the leader.

That's easy to forget here in the bowels of the white natty nation.

Canadians are a little dense, have short memories and are quite politically stupid. Justin got in because people were fed up with Harpo and his gestapo way of keeping everybody in the dark. Now they are fed up with Trudeau and expect that the same conservatives will save them from the liberals. They are both dancing to the same puppet masters, owned by the same corporations and billionaires. It will always be business as usual no matter which of those two corrupt organizations gets in. If you really want change, you need to look outside that box that we have been stuck in since confederation.

Which party do you suggest we vote for? Which party are you going to vote for? I think we probably sold Harper short, he paid a big price for being a little aloof, and not promising more than he could deliver. What has this turkey delivered that he's promised?

The thing i like about the Australian and the UK Parliamentary system is that the MPs ultimately choose the PM. The Party System that Canada has adopted essentially puts the petty party ideologues in charge of picking the leader at Party Conventions.

That's how we ended up with a nitwit like Justin Trudeau with no leadership ability or no political vision beyond a slavish subservience to feminism, homosexuality, radical environmentalism and, multiculturalism. His ideological franchise exists solely in the Liberal Party of Canada.

What this does is disenfranchise the ridings and and electorate from choosing the Prime Minister through their MPs. It's really why a mediocrity like Harper held on for so long. Scott Morrisson took over from his predecessor, Malcolm Turnbull, when the latter proposed eviscerating carbon taxes on the country and supported same sex marriage and was given the boot by the Conservative alliance.

I suppose it'll do until you get the theocracy you really want.
