Are Canadians the only clean athletes?

Have you watched any of the mens gymnastics? The Canadians look far less muscular than all of their counterparts. They have completely different body types. That can't all be chalked up to the enjoyment of Canadian back bacon and maple syrup. It makes me wonder if in our effort to clean up sports in Canada after Ben Johnson actually worked. That we cleaned it up alright, even chased away the good cheaters, while the rest of the world went on improving the cheating methods.

Wouldn't suprise me, I mean with all the gold medals the US seems to have easily collected so far, their history of drugs in baseball to hit that next home run, football players, wrestlers.... the whole mentality of not just competing, not just to win a medal, but to be number one and to win nothing but gold, I think is the hype and pressure most are put through..... and to reduce the chances of losing against others they may feel are also cheating, they are put under pressure to cheat to stand a chance.

I was told that getting performance enhancing drugs in china isn't all that hard to do, and you can even get doctors to give you the stuff, along with taking care of injecting too..... which makes me wonder about China's big list of medals too.

But don't think I'm saying any of this because Canada hasn't won a damn thing yet, and probably never will... I lost faith in our athletes a few days ago..... I just noticed a pattern.

Well here's a little bit of information in regards to the extent some countries are willing to cheat:

If the Chinese news report is correct, gold medalist He Kexin is two years under the age of Olympic eligibility (16).

Chinese news service reported that gold medal gymnast was 13
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/olympics/2008/08/14/underage.gymnasts/index.html?cnn=yes

Just nine months before the Beijing Olympics, the Chinese government's news agency, Xinhua, reported that gymnast He Kexin was 13, which would have made her ineligible to be on the team that won a gold medal this week......

...... Yang was also on Wednesday's winning team. Questions have also been raised about her age and that of a third team member, Jiang Yuyuan.

Gymnasts have to be 16 during the Olympic year to be eligible for the games. He's birthday is listed as Jan. 1, 1992.

OK, fine, if all of this info is true, and it is reported to the olympic committee right now,
and proven, they will be disqualified, so why don't they do that.

Maybe they're waiting until the very end when everybody thinks they got away with it, then comes the big long paper trail listing off all the players disqualified, the huge headache of re-figuring out who truly won, who's left to gain a medal...... then the huge political mess of each country finger pointing one another for cheating and ruining the games......

..... Not to mention the Russia/Georgian conflict going on as we speak.... the political troubles for China relating to their human rights and pollution.... Canada sitting back saying "See I told you so" NATO crumbling.......

..... This could spell the end of civilization as we currently know it and here comes WWIII..... all because one country was cheating with drugs and another was sending in kids to beat out the old geezers.

Remember, it's just a game :p

There have been only a few Canadians that have been DQ'd for doping: Ben Johnson, Silken Laumann, Venolyn Clarke come to mind. Overall, they have always been clean.
