The USA. They are a chemical company and I know about the disaster in India. However that was an accident. A negligent accident but an accident nevertheless. Asbestos mining and production, and product usage is something that is known to cause deaths when used correctly. I saw a documentary of not only people who work for Canadian Asbestos dying of cancer but their children too as the fibers are brought home on their clothes.

One would assume the customers know the risk. Asbestos is a cheaper option - and one most attractive to money people.

How many Denniston people have developed cancer from Elliot Lake uranium?

How many of that product's chosen targets have had a say in its end use? For many, initially anyhow, cancer is the least of their worries.

Woof!

The people formerly known as Canadians are not anti the people formerly known as Americans, and both the former citizens of the former countrys love and respect the former Mexicans. While were jamming the respective legislation together and harmonizing the thread forms and highway signs we should also be jamming the three former national anthems together and we need a new flag. The problems are surmountable , I'm sure if we spend enough money we can amalgomate relatively painlessly, and then there's Quebec. The signage over the whole expanse of the continent will have to be in four languages, American, Canadian, Mexican and Quebeclish.

Not only is it cheap it was probably the best insulator known to man. It still is.

But that doesn't change the fact that Canada exports it and pushes it like crack. The "crack" statement was actually from a Canadian who lost five friends from the industry and wants Canada to stop. I am sure those end users have little or no say. They may even be ignorant of the fact that the asbestos they are dealing with is banned in every developed country. But that does not diminish the responsibility nor absolve Canada of pushing the stuff which they do so vigorously.

Happy Thanksgiving. Signing off for now.

Hey, don't get me wrong. I'm totally against the stuff coming up out of the ground. My guess is it's the corporate lobbyists and the people who'll be put out of work when politically sensitive Quebec mines close who are making the waves. Canada has to grow some balls and learn to say NO where it matters.

Happy Thanksgiving....

Woof!
