There are two groups in America. Those who believe in the ideal of equality of result, including their collaborators, and those who believe in individual liberty. Democrats and most Republicans fall into the first group. The Baalistas fall into the second group.

Fungus and mold are cultures. I think reality TV, US politics and Hollywierd are sure signs of lack of culture.

What do you mean, most of our reality TV and Hollywierd come from Canada. I agree with you about that though, people having to live adventures thru others. But we still have a great society. :)

I'm not saying Canada is doing any better in that department. In fact we are but a poor carbon copy.

Personally, I'd LOVE to invade Saudi Arabia, the Sudan, Yemen, Syria, North Korea, Iran...............bring them to heel, kill their leaders, and convert the people to Christianity.

But it is simply not possible.

Personally, I'd be happier if they were agnostic but, then again, I'm not a religious nutter.

Not my problem Colpy, what is my problem is some poor Canadian bugger in an alley lying in his own filth.

It's unfortunate that some people limit who they consider their brother and who is worthy of their help.

And you devour it up there!
Perhaps many Canadians do. I don't have a TV but from the occasional view I have had at other people's homes, I wouldn't waist my time on 99% of what is available on the 5000 channel universe. The only thing I know about recent US politics I get from CC but I do watch the occasional movie, not always Hollywierd movies. What other people rot their brains on is not really my concern.

What a mess, the interest in oil is behind this as Italy gets significant oil from Libya.
In addition it is a good time to show the force militarily and politically in the region,
The only thing the Muslims seem to understand is force. The problem the west has
is they are not prepared to declare total war, that would include attacking civilians
as well, the last time that was front and center was during WWII.
I would not be unhappy if we went after a number of these dictators the only problem
is the people who would take over are worse, like Iran backed administrations.
Libya is a take them out now situation, and the rest might fall in line. Some are saying
oh otherwise we would have to give up our current lifestyle. This is absolutely true.
If the society slips any further the west itself leaves itself open to social and political
unrest. Selfish or not, the west is intent on having its way in total contentment. Even
the young people are filled with the sense of entitlement.
The world is a very dangerous place right now and Libya is at least a diversion from
reality. Hypocrisy or not, gun powder sells and sells well at a time like this.

You're in the minority.
