Actually no serious historian denies Christ existed, and the burden of proof that he was married to Magdalene is on those who claim he was married to her. But if you don't think Christ existed, it would only be logical to doubt Magdalene existed, and the rest of the followers also.

Aye. I'll try a different twist.

How many American soldiers does it take to change a light bulb?
Twelve. But you also need six British soldiers for them to blow up and a slew of Pentagon lawyers and spin doctors to explain "This tragic friendly fire incident".

And to be politically correct since this is Canadian Content.

How many Canadians does it take to screw in a light bulb?

Twelve. Four to form a Parliamentary study committee to decide how to solve the problem, one Francophone to complain that I didn't translate this joke into French, one Native Canadian to protest that the interests of Native Canadians have been overlooked, one woman from the National Action Committee On the Status Of Women to say that women have been underrepresented in the process, one to go over the border to the Niagara Falls Factory Outlet Mall and buy a new bulb and not pay duty on it on the way back, one to actually screw it in, one to collect taxes on the whole procedure so the government can afford it, one to buy a case of Molson for everybody to drink, and one to drop the puck.

Some Canadian Prime Ministers have to understand that agreeing with the US at some times does not make you the pawn of the US.

Some Canadian citizens "have" to understand that we should not even have a Prime Minister at all, but instead a dictatorship run by the proletariat.

The closer our political system is to the United States, the closer the damage Canada will take when the U.S.A. faces it's retribution.

It appears some Canadians don't need or want to join in (or be forced to join in) on the proletariat clan.

If you want to live under the "Iron Fist of Socialism" you should have no problem finding a country that suits your desires, but don't bother trying to change Canada into some pathetic little pawn in the sick evil game of communism.

Jay...we've been through this already...

No historian, scribe or poet wrote anything about Jesus until at least 40 years after he died...considering that archaelogists peg the average life expectancy of people of that time and locale to be 30 years, would suggest that whoever wrote the Gospels of Mark and Matthew were either very young, or not yet born while Jesus lived...how could they have witnessed any of what is written in the Gospels? And that's a stretch...the Gospel of Mark is accepted by all biblical historians to be the first book written...yet the author of Mark, in his/her own words, had never met Jesus...

No extra-biblical author that makes any reference to Jesus, could have possible met him. Let's take a look:

Josephus...born 37 CE...4 years after Christ's alleged crucifixion...

Pliny the Younger...born 62 CE...29 years after crucifixion...

Tacitus...born 64 CE...31 years after crucifixion...

Seutonius...born 69 CE...36 years after crucifixion...

Bear in mind that these alleged references to the biblical Christ are dubious at best, and as has been shown, they could not possibly have known or met Jesus anyway...yet these are all the names that the Christian apologists will list as evidence for the existence of Christ...there was never a contemporaneous author that wrote a single line about the great Jesus Christ...Philo Judaeus lived from 20-50 BCE, and was considered the greatest Jewish-Hellenic philosopher and historian of the time...and lived in Jerusalem during the time of the alleged Jesus...yet not a word from Philo about Christ...or any other writer in Jerusalem at the time...

So Jay, I dispute your claim that all "serious historians" accept the existence of Jesus...

I know what you mean. I respect that. But from what documentaries I've seen suggest that historians don't refute the claims that a man named Jesus walked the earth and caused a new religion to occur. They might refute the "miracles" etc, but they seem to agree (in large part anyways) that Jesus must have existed.

I see you haven’t converted yet….

Have you been reading something I am not aware of? ... I have done nothing different than anyone else on this message board. I have discussed and stated my beliefs the same as any of you. You are persecuting me because you do not agree with my beliefs. Why not tell EVERYONE you disagree with, not to post here, and to leave the country?

As far as "evil", what makes you think anything about true "communism" is evil? .. Because of Stalin? .. He was not even a socialist, he was no different then Bush manipulating a situation to his own benefit. People lived communist style for thousands of years in peace before democracy, a way to gain power and status without war, was created. Personally, I do NOT think there is any need to gain power and status, and I believe everyone is equal and should have exact equal opportunity for everything, not just what fits into a so called "budget".

I do not blame either of you for expressing such emotional beliefs because I understand you too, have been subjected to anti-Communist propaganda. It's all around us. But we must be stronger than that. I just hope neither of you have ever downloaded an mp3 from a file sharing program because that is communism my friend, and would make you one hell of a hypocrite.

While I may be somewhat more resilient to McCarthyism than my friend Jay here, I believe that as a system of government, communism cannot work, because it will always be subverted before it achieves it's desired end...there will always be someone wanting to see it fail, and doing everything they can to achieve those ends...there will always be someone with inherent greed who will believe that they deserve more, and seize the power from the proletariat...

We've seen this happen too many times...what makes you think that will not happen the next time?

Yes, apparently it is. And what quality of life do the people who apparently "lose" money because of this live? ... A much greater quality than of most of those who download that's for sure. What sort of impact does it really have? .. 4 Mercedes in the garage instead of 5? ... Logic, people, logic.

In addition, I know personally, I have found music over file sharing programs I would have never found otherwise, and I then went out and purchased the CD. Communism in that case, actually helped capitalism. Go figure.

I suppose then in that sense, Capitalism has also helped Communism. File sharing programs make money for those companies that offer the service.

So you are in essence promoting capitalism, aren't ya? :p

I would look into who these historians are, and where they went to school...Trinity College, or Brigham Young perhaps?

and so to the reverse. We don't have to agree with them just because we're allies.
