What the hell are you doing here then Matt the US military is looking for you :p Why don't you just leave and go live in the police state of America then :p

DO you have any idea how difficult it is to get even a VISA to the us let alone a green card? It take upwards of 3 years!!! Oh ya, that must be because of the extremely low demand for US visas and green cards. certainly NOBODY wants to immigrate to the united states. Yes, I LOVE the confiscatory taxes in this country, the sub par health care, the 6 hour waiting list at the local ER, the oversized government bureaucracy, the complete democractic deficit, the one party state, the corruption in government, the freezing climate, the racist underbelly toward natives (no I am not native, but I see it everywhere)....do I want to leave? You Bet! My name is on the list!!! Last one out turn off the lights...

Al Qaeda, they are certainly NOT weakened, Two corrupt dictators have not been toppled, Bin Laden is NOT on the run or hiding in some cave.

Actually Al Qaeda is stronger now....

And we're ASSUMING Bin Laden is hiding in a cave and on the run. The US doesn't know where he is. The fact that he hasn't been turned in now speaks volumes.

The US drops little hints and innuendos now and again to keep us interested...Bin Laden is probably living in a guest house on Jeb Bush's ranch... 8O

Perhaps after Mr. Bush has passed away, you can make a fortune in Vegas doing entertainment speeches.

As far as Bin ladin, he doesn't even matter anymore. At this point, it will not weaken Al Qaeda in any way, if they capture him. Bin laddin would simply become a martyr like we have never seen before in history. Could you imagine the Arab world if the USA captured him? .. Or killed him? ... His face plastered on every arab billboard, every Tv channel, portraying him as the hero of the muslim world!!! You think they are motivated now?? Well you havn't seen nothing yet.

Regarding mattyloo's comment on SSM referendum in 13 states: If that were changed to inter-racial marriages, do you think there would be unanimous consent? How do you rationalize deciding a matter of human rights with a referendum? Did the US ask her citizens if they would support the Bill of Rights?

Don't you have your hands full yet matty?

Lets see now, you've been called a neo-con, you have been requested to leave Canada and join the US military, having aTexan accent, being an American (thats a bad thing around here), you have been accused of something to be the matter with you, spinning topics, lets see did I forget antyhing?

That's what you get, you had just about everyone from left to extreme left (if there is such a difference) all over you because you dared to have a different opinion and see the world differently, you're are also considered an idiot for having such a "narrow" mind.

How dare you express your right wing opinions!

Gordon. I really don't want to think about the ramifications of the US actually catching BinLaden. It maybe in the US"s best interest to never ever locate him....

I'd suggest they already know this except that you'd think they'd have done their research about Iraq too.

Matty, I'd like to take the opportunity now to welcome you to the board...

Now what the hell is the matter with you?

You are portraying the US' illegal invasion of a sovereign nation as some kind of idealistic crusade...if that were true, why did the US not present that to the UN General Assembly instead of trumping up some crap about WMD...You've read the Downing Street Memo right? You know that both Bush and Blair were conniving to go into Iraq even though they were warned that the evidence was flimsy...what reason would they have had for being so purposefully deceptive, do you think?

I suppose too that you are an apologist for the tortures committed at the hands of the US interrogators, and prison guards...you sure as hell talk like you're one...

Canada did not enter the Coalition because the evidence was just not there...Canada still respects the authority of the United Nations...Canada went into Afghanistan, because that is where the Global War on Terror, which we agreed to assist the US in fighting, had taken us...

sorry to spoil your single ideology party. In case you didn't notice, it is MY idea that are fresh. everyone else on the board has obviously been talking to eachother for far too long. time for some new perspective people...You missed it before but that is exactly what I was saying about this country, every thinks the same, nobody questions the national perception.

And at no point have I even once suggested that the US didn't rush to war. To be fair: I think they did rush to war. The war in Iraq may very well have been premarture or perhaps even unnecessary. What I have simply been doing this entire time is pointing out that GW Bush is not the devil, and that there is some merit in the operation of attempting to spread democracy. I am not even saying it is right. I am saying that it might be working! I am saying that it is impossible to pass judgement on foreign policy until many many years after the dust has settled, and that history may end up being alot kinder to GW bush et al. I am saying that the hardline isn't always the wrong line, and that Canada's passive stance may have been disastrous. This we cannot ever know can we? Saddam flouted the UN sanctions like they were a parking ticket. How relevant can the UN be if its sanctions are not respected by rogue leaders? Do we not need some form of enforcement? When Hitler went into Austria, we all stood by and said "take it, but please no more"....the US chose not to stand by while Saddam floute 10-year-old sanctions. Think about it.

Fresh perspective, people. You're so locked into your way of thinking, you haven't considered that the idea that all that you say is right and proper and all that GW Bush does is wrong and improper is an impossible conclusion.

Your right. It's too bad. It's amazing that humans simply haven't annihilated each other by now. We're worse then crows for not getting along.

FYI hyou have bought into Paul Martin's rantings that this is even a Human Rights issue. If so, why is it not listed anywhere in Amnesty's material? No one's rights are being violated by not allowing same sex marriage. Marriage is not a right, it is a religious sacrament, or more techinically, a legal definition. Gay couples, not defined as marriages, still carry the same rights as anyone else in society.

this line bothers me. How come this line is even used? What do you think the fate of Iraq (not Saddam) would have been if they'd complied with the UN's demands? Remember. this is the middle east......do you think that Saddam could have admitted he had no WMD? do you think he could have admitted this and expected protection from the US?

Actually, I am going to use this voice of reason as an opportunity  There actually is a place in the world where free expression of ALL ideas is not only tolerated but encouraged. It's called the USA. Pick up a new york times and flip back to the op-ed section and you will see a very broad cross section of opinions on everything from war to health care. Try even using the word "private" and "helath care" in the same sentence in this country and you get lynched.

Actually, I am usually the one in situations like the one you are in now, the only difference is, we are complete opposites. You are my evil reciprocal.

I really don't want to think about the ramifications of the US actually catching BinLaden. It maybe in the US"s best interest to never ever locate him....

I'd suggest they already know this except that you'd think they'd have done their research about Iraq too[

As much as I hate to say this, and as extreme as it may sound, it may be in the best interest of the world as a whole, to take any opportunities that may come our way to make sure he is NOT captured.

It's an interesting point, but everyone on the post keeps suggesting we should have gone with the UN not the US. Well if that is the case, what is the point of having UN sanctions if nobody follows them? And if nobody follows the UN sanctions, what is the point of the UN?

Um -- You brought up the UN. There is no disputing that Saddam ignored the UN, so stop turning this around. The question isn't "why did the US use force?" the question is "why didn't the UN?"

...and as to Bush's wishing to spread democracy, all he's spread is depleted uranium,

um -- no that is the French and the Russians...er oops that's ENRICHED unranium.

Well, 'ts been fun but gotta run.

In Summary:

I am OUT!
