Here we go again with all this anti-American semantics and twisting around ideologies to suit the hatred........

The people working in and around the WTC were doing their jobs - not sitting plotting disaster and death to Arabs.

Or are we going to single out Jews as being responsible???

Or the military ????

The White House or the Government Buildings were not blown up.. so where do you get this little blame game you are playing here?

What about the families of the slain? What about the people of the U.S. who have nothing to do with anything other than contributing to their country, paying their taxes, educating their kids, sending money all over the globe.... those are innocent people too.... and in particular:

Innocent is a perfect word to describe those who lost their lives - in the buildings, in the field, those who were saving lives after the disaster happened and those who lost their lives in the aircraft....To this date there are still men and women coughing their damaged lungs up because of that disaster - and they were there to rescue. Are they innocent???? Yes they certainly are!

How anyone can sit and pick apart the semantics of "innocent"...can only mean one bloody thing to me....

"Guilty until proven.... " seems to be the buzzword of many Canadians. How can you live with yourselves thinking this way.
The hate must be eating at you.

WC I am begining to believe that a moderate view is not exceptable on any topic that relates to the US or the war on terrorism. The people who died on September 11 were murdered by extremist in the name of Allah, murdered as in victims. These victims were from many countries, and I am tired of the disrespect to these victims.

September 11 of this year is the fifth aniversery of a mass murder by cowards and I for one haven't forgotten the horror.

Its all a big giant plot involving the Jews, the Bushes, Osama bin Laden, etc., to bring down the WTC, so Bush, I mean the US, to invade oil-rich Afghanistan, so their oil buddies can profit, covered-up by the Jewish/corporate-owned media.

The government can't deliver the mail, but WHOA, can they pull off the mother of all conspiracy theories or what?

how many pounds of steel sold from that building that day was destined for bombs and how many gallons of fuel was destined for missiles? I can't give you a number on that either but I can give you an answer.

too many.

I'm by no means saying they deserved it but I AM saying everyone should quit acting so surprised. One thing leads to another and those people ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time but the place was chosen for a reason, plain and simple, so spare me the hyperbole. please.

and it may be worth mentioning the topic makes claim to America's innocence, not the victims. perhaps once the trauma has passed more people will realize there's a difference between the two.

WC, my frustration with posters like the one above is there cold, cruel attitude that some how the US disearved Sep. 11. Stay with me, I am not going to let that side control every thread, I'm tired of their hate filled messages against the US and they do it with cart-blanc.

In my opinion, yes, American citizens were the "innocents" in the context of the destruction of those towers of the World Trade Center — in fact, anyone who dies or is injured is an innocent, in my opinion. Death and injury are always inappropriate means to an end, even in exigent circumstances. I can only hope for the day when humanity comes to this realization.

That says "INNOCENCE", not "INNOCENTS". Maybe its convenient for some to call such attention to the English language "semantics" but there's nothing I can do about either such avoidance or the mentality motivates it.

maybe you should stick to bitching about the low quality of debate aound here and acting surprised about THAT too.

BitWhys, my apologies; I wasn't attempted to detract from debate in this thread, but was rather responding directly to a post by Wednesday's Child. However, I would agree that the perceived innocence of the United States of America may have been damaged abroad by the destruction of the World Trade Center towers — that attack, and the subsequent retaliation, may have sealed the door to innocence, perhaps for the United States, and most certainly for their administration.

I fell into the years old argument I have been reading on Canadian forums for years now. The song remains the same only louder with more voices.

I can't apologize for my opinion however - and will leave it at that.
