I know that they do pay for all the highways/roads/ and bridges leading to their businesses. Not just the rich pay but everyone who works for a living. Again, infrastructure is not a freebie from the government... they get the money from taxes.

I do not know why the government is owed more. There is already too much government waste. Our Governor is spending $6 Million to renovate his office in the State House. SIX MILLION DOLLARS!

Roads, Fire, Police, etc.... paid for by taxpayers. Welfare recipients benefits... paid for by tax payers.

The wealthy and everyone else that work have already paid for those roads.

No welfare recipient ever gave me a job.
But it's the wealthy peoples money and they shouldn't be paying THEIR money. They need to keep it and let everyone else do that, to ensure all the slaves show up at Walmart. The slaves are so entitled!

Who has more to lose if the road system doesn't get built, the popcorn vendor at Dallas Stadium or Jerry Jones?

But the wealthy are paying with their money... and paying a lot.

Do you think it is a good idea to not allow businesses to grow and be successful?

No, I'm just saying they should shut the phhuk up about having to pay taxes and quit making it a comparison between them and people who have nothing except the work ethic to help rich people make a fortune.

But Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys and other businesses have paid for those roads already.

And the Popcorn Vendor pays for them as well.

Does Jerry Jones make more money? Absolutely. But you are more likely to be hired by Jerry Jones than the Popcorn Vendor. I don't see why you want to punish success.

Well when the government wastes so much and lives off the tax payers labor and a growing segment of our population seems content to have a living provided for them... they have a right to speak out. It is their money.

Liberal Myth Debunked In New Report On Welfare Statistics: More Blacks Than Whites Are On Welfare…

We’ve all heard over and over again from the left how more whites are on welfare than blacks as some weird justification for keeping the gravy train rolling. Despite the fact that blacks represent 13% of the population, they account for 39.8% of all welfare recipients, versus 38.8% for whites.

There's those damn statistics again!

Do the employees of these businesses want to personally pay for all the highways/roads/bridges leading to their places of work?

Maybe the highways should be paid proportionally by all those who use them. "Rich" shouldn't enter into it!

Well, if they are using the highway to any great extent they probably have a job and a car, so I guess the burning question is "Should they be on welfare"?

They have a car yes... but a job... not quite. You should see the cars many of them drive!

Here in Massachusetts there are enough state and federal welfare benefits to provide a family a middle class life style with out having to work a day.

Well, I guess there is nothing more to discuss about welfare!

In Massachusetts? I think that state and possibly a lot of New England needs an attitude adjustment.

I could not agree more JLM. However we are a fully dominated Liberal Democrat state and that is what we get.

What's not to vote for with all that free stuff, it is a wonder that anyone even works in Mass.

Since a growing segment of manufacturing jobs going over there hasn't stopped growing since the late seventies you have absolutely no way to change the unfortunate welfare burden. You feed them or they eat you. The rich don't pay taxes they collect them.

That word lost its true meaning about 50 years ago, it just don't happen any more! -:)

There are no instant solutions. First the difference between whites and blacks on welfare
is insignificant. Why is it that roads and bridges and infrastructure becomes a target it is
the responsibility of everyone to make sure these facilities are invested in. Businesses
should not pay more nor less when it comes to these services.
The problem is we have an explosion of technology, and a workforce setup for mechanical
manufacturing. We have corporations abdicating their responsibility to America and sending
jobs offshore. Although it should be pointed out people wanted cheap running shoes without
figuring out the consequences.
The nation needs a realignment period. It will take a national discussion not a screaming match.
That is impossible in the age of polarization. Rather than abandoning the left right thing and
addressing the problems everyone will argue like lemmings while going over the cliff.
Why do Asians have such a lower level of welfare? Asians by nature invest in higher and
more productive education and they pool resourses to allow them to start new businesses.
I have neighbours who came from Taiwan they are industrious and opened a market garden.
while many farmers here are whining about low apple prices they made a fortune in a ten
acre market garden. The difference is their approaches to getting ahead and it shows
in the drastic difference in numbers.

In 2012, the federal government gave out $240 billion in housing aid.

Income data is not available for all of it, but of what is available, more than half went to those with incomes greater than $100,000 ($81.6 billion). Only $40 billion went to those with incomes less than $50,000.

Overall, high income households receive four times as much in housing aid as low-income ones.

The main reason for this is the majority of federal housing aid flows to homeowners, not renters. The mortgage interest deduction is the most well-known program that subsidizes homeownership. That deduction alone is larger than all federal rental aid combined.

Yup. Include corporate welfare in the stats shown in the OP and the racial makeup of the welfare recipients will change instantly. Too bad that is not politically correct in this forum or in other right wing circles. ;)

That makes perfect sense, you just have to follow the money! Where does the money come from in the first place? Which segment of the population supplies the bulk of the money?

The problem is, of course, that poor people do not pretend to be "independent" types who are free of government largesse. By contrast, many others who do get tons of govt $$$ make that pretense. See my previous posts on Michelle Bachmann as an example.
