the reason no one in america cares about canada is because canada is not a major player on the world scene. i think its normal for other countrys to pay attention to the usa becuase what we do might effect there life , but nothing in candaian politics really instestests me of would have any effect of me or even they people im canada lol

Bush isn't a major player on the world scene. When was the last time anyone showed him respect? The UN hasn't listened to him since he sent Powell in there to BS. The world has tuned the US out, but will tune in again when someone more closely resembling a world leader is put in the oval office. The only thing he has to show for his Presidency is a mess in Iraq. Is that what being a "major player" is?

You may not like him, but what makes him a major playre is the fact that he is the pres of the usa and the most powerful man in the world. so you may not like him, but you cant really do much, thats how the world goes round.

you need to change the name of this thread. why do you all assume americans are igorant about canada. the reason know one knows that much about canada is because there is never anything on the news or tv about canada. the reason for most of these anti american threads is because your feelings are hurt i understand you pay all this attention to someone and they dont even act like you are there.

The "most powerful man" looks very powerless in his Presidency. He became a lame duck before his second inauguration. He has accomplished nothing. Causing more problems than he's capable of managing and playing the part of an ignorant diplomat is hardly being a major player. There's really nothing that needs to be done, he does it himself.

Well American newscasters don't seem to realise there is another world outside their door. Beside the war in Iraq and perhaps a few news stories based in Europe, american tv channels rarely report any non-american news. This I know from growing up in a border town where if you didn't have cable tv you didn't get a lot of Canadian news because the majority of channels were american. The whole world knows about america and americans because it is constantly in our face. There is Canadian news; however most american news channels don't want to broadcast it- even when the nearest Canadian city is 5 minutes away.

<the reason for most of these anti american threads is because your feelings are hurt i understand you pay all this attention to someone and they dont even act like you are there. >

 Well its more than that actually. Its the superior attitudes and beliefs some americans have towards their country. There are a lot of Americans who think they are the best in everything; yet they have never travelled outside of their own little town !

Oh yeh - forgot about that. You should have seen last year's races ; especially in Toronto weather that had a humidex reading of 40 celsius (translated into Fahrenheit - about 100 or higher)that melted all the ice in the igloos ! Dogs loved charging down Younge street in their fur coats !

Well, Kugluktuk or Cambridge bay...Same terrain really (except Cambridge bay is flatter than Kug)

Haven't been home for years.

At least some American Stereotypes of canadians are true, but only when considering life in the High Arctic that is.
