Modern ES???? This event was over 20 years ago and was limited to a single regiment.

And the entire regiment was disbanded because of it.

Whereas the USMC has killed innocents and committed foul acts on a regular basis from their inception right up to today. I'm not saying you personally are a guy who gets off on this sh*t, you are just brainwashed, trained and ordered to do it.

My point exactly. Like it or not America is a world pariah. If ES wants to hang the icon he's got to take the image. It is not an honourable image outside of America.

Have you ever used a firearm tober? Have you ever stood in defense of anything what required risking life and limb?

I own three centre fire rifles (.300 magnum, .270 and .243), three 12 gauge shotguns, a 22 magnum and a 22 rimfire. I reload all my own centre fire rifle ammunition. I would reload my shotgun ammo but since steel shot came in the price difference doesn't warrant it (so I am told). I have been hunting since the migratory bird season opened this month. I take my deer annually, moose, elk and bear when I can and I eat all of them. I am a veteran of the Canadian navy, regular force and reserve, 10 years total. I was on the navy rifle team at Connaught Range in Ottawa in 1968.

How about you? Or are you just a keyboard commando and name caller?

So, you were a member of a force whose sole purpose was to kill others and you condemn others for doing what you were trained to do? Can you say hypocrite?

Were you even out of high school during this time? Keep on making sh*t up so you feel better. You realize what orders from the CiC of NATO means right? Oh. I forgot the only order an American soldier ever hears is kill anyone not in a US uniform!

Americans speak as though it is a foregone conclusion that America wins its wars. But does it? What does history say? Let's tally them.

Mexico (under Zach Taylor)? Yes. 19th Century. Third World. Industrial power whups peasants.

Philippines? Yes. 19th Century. Third World, five foot people in an agrarian culture. Industrial power whups peasants.

Cuba?Yes. 19th Century. Third World. Industrial power whups peasants.

WW1 America was on the winning side but the end was in sight when America entered. The war started in 1914 and the first American combat as an army was not until the autumn of 1918. They got there earlier, but up to that point US troops had no experience in modern war and had to be retrained by British, French and Canadians. Was America on the winning side? Yes. Did "America" win? No. Were US troops essential to victory? No. French troops were though.

WW2? Yes. Not in Europe though. Russia beat Germany. The allies helped, but the Allies without Russia could not have beat Germany and the opposite is not true. Was America on the winning side? Yes. Did America "win"? No. Were US troops essential to victory? No. Russian troops were though.

WW2 in Asia? Yes. And against a first rate world military, too. Mostly all by themselves although India and Burma were mostly a Brit. effort. Did America "win"? Yes. Were US troops essential to victory? Yes. The first 20th Century war where that was the case. And the last.

Korea? No. Third World nation but first rate military. America lost, won, lost then stalemated with massive S. Korean input and significant input from other western nations.

Vietnam? No. Third World. America lost against an agrarian nation of five-footers whose strategy was always to get in close where technology was neutralized so the five footers could beat the six footers. America likes to say they won all the battles but lost the war, but that is very debatable. The Vietnamese traded space for time until they wore the Americans down. It worked for Russia twice - once against France and once against Germany.

Iraq? Barely. Third World. The war was being lost for years. Technology, not its fighting men, propped up US hopes. They are supreme inside their Greenzone and camps but, like in Vietnam, nowhere else.

So where does that leave us? With a superpower that can destroy the world but will be destroyed itself if it tries, and that won only one war in over 60 years and precious little against real world powers before that. Not much to hold up against the size of the brag.

Huh? That's a hoot.

and you condemn others for doing what you were trained to do?

Not even close. I criticize America for its war mongering and war crimes. Care to deny them? I can wait.

I wonder if the notion that I was trained to commit war crimes comes from somebody who thinks others are like him, not an uncommon trait?

Care to reply?

Actually G most military forces around the world serve the sole purpose of DEFENSE! They may have to kill others who are trying to kill them but defending the citizens of their nation against attack is their purpose.

You are thinking of mainly the US and it's not-so-willing NATO allies in the last 50 years where they have been an OFFENSIVE force for geo-political and imperialistic reasons as in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq & Lybia. Even then the actual men in the force are trained to defend their nation, they are just misled and ordered into offensive wars by their leaders.

Canadian CF-18s blew the sh*t out of Libya on behalf of Suncor/PetroCanada.

I was pickled tink when the rebels re-opened the Mellitah gas plant and Greenstream pipeline to Italy.

F*cking Canadian warmongers and their sphincter licking Corporate soldiers, sailors and airmen deserve a raise.

Libya threatened to nationalize Petro-Canada: WikiLeaks

OTTAWA—A newly leaked U.S. diplomatic note says Libya threatened to nationalize Petro-Canada’s operations in the North African country over a spat with the Conservative government.

Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi cancelled a September 2009 stopover in Newfoundland after Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon promised a tongue-lashing for the hero’s welcome that Libya extended to a man convicted in the 1988 Lockerbie bombing.

The U.S. cable, obtained from WikiLeaks by British newspaper the Daily Telegraph, says Libya’s state oil company called in a senior Petro-Canada official with a threat to nationalize the firm’s operations in Libya if Canada did not apologize.

The cable says Canada’s ambassador to Libya, Sandra McCardell, told the U.S. embassy in Tripoli the Libyans demanded the apology within 24 hours.

“McArdle said she has advocated some kind of public and private statements from the Canadian (prime minister) and (foreign minister), which would indicate a Canadian welcome for the Libyans and hopefully turn the situation around,” the cable says.

“Libyans here are frantically calling the Canadian embassy, concerned that if the issue is not resolved, Gadhafi’s trip home will be complicated by lack of a place to stop for necessary refuelling.”

The Sept. 28, 2009, cable also says McCardell told her U.S. counterpart that Ottawa had initially planned to refuse the eccentric Gadhafi permission to stop on Sept. 29-30 in Newfoundland en route to Spain from the United Nations.

In the meantime, Canadian companies with business interests in Libya “launched a furious lobbying effort” and persuaded the Conservative government to allow the trip to go forward, the note says.

“However, McArdle said that the Canadian government’s precarious domestic situation and upcoming elections pressed the foreign minister (Cannon) to go public with his very stern message.”

Though Gadhafi’s government did not follow through on its apparent threat to take over Petro-Canada’s operations, a second WikiLeaks cable obtained by the Daily Telegraph indicates it doled out a milder punishment.

The Libyan government issued an order Sept. 30, 2009, forcing Petro-Canada and its operator, Libya’s Hrouj company, to cut production by 50 per cent, the note says

...an American will shoot at it. Of course they shoot anything that doesn't look like a duck too.

Sounds more like your peeps.

Still nothing from you concerning the atrocities the US committed in, well, every conflict in the last 150 years or more.

Why should I when you should be dealing with your own atrocities.

Yep, 16 years of synagogue every Saturday and a Bah Mitzvah made me hate my people.

Oh so you're one of those self-loathing Jooos.

No fantasies in this brain that don't involve Cindy Crawford. Only thing in your head is what the USMC left there.

All of your posts are fantasies.

So jealous of the Marines eh?

You really should lay down when you're dreaming.;-) Your country killed a million innocents in Vietnam alone and that doesn't even count Laos & Cambodia let alone all the other places you wreaked havoc. We haven't killed 100,000 civilians combined.

Coming from the you whose country watched close to a million be slaughtered and slaughtered millions more in other conflicts. Mostly women and children.

Yeah, thanks for dragging us and the rest of NATO into Lybia and then pointing like it is our fault.

Yet another fantasy!

You led the way!

Korea? No. Third World nation but first rate military. America lost, won, lost then stalemated with massive S. Korean input and significant input from other western nations.

You are so stupid. Truly you are. S. Korean forces were practically pushed into the sea and if it wasn't for the US at the Pusan Perimeter they would have. Then Marine landings at Inchon sent the N. Koreans scrambling back and were pushed into China. Only the Chinese invasion saved them from annihilation. S. Korea is saved. We win.

The rest is just foolishness and has been discussed over and over in this forum and recently I may add.

But you're afraid of us... you fear for your wife and children because of the US. Does your wife know she married such a wimp? lol

Your average high school educated American, especially if he was educated in a red state, does not recognize US propaganda because it does not come from a government appointed Ministry of Propaganda like Germany in WW2. Germany in WW2 is their hallmark, and Americans have bought into the theory that anything else is not propaganda. US Republicans have a policy of under-educating the general public in order to create a pool of dumbed-down labour, unfortunately a strategy that seems to be working quite well. In ancient Rome it was said that to control the people give them wine and circuses. In America it has translated to violent media, cheap gas, booze and guns. The guns fulfill two aims - they justify brutal policing, and they create a society off balance and unable to recognize the encroachment of government into their rights. The over-all brilliance of US propaganda is that it perfectly fulfills the first necessity of propaganda that it not be seen as such by it's victims.
