and then..... when the returning marines go off the deepend because of ptsd....... and kill themselves..... the families of those marines are left out in the cold. The corp won't even help with the burial. It's "so sad, too bad, sucks to be you".
Sucks to be a US military family, actually. Matter of fact it sucks to be US military, where a "deployment" means participating in or at least witnessing killing women or children. A former US grunt on Political Hotwire spoke of guys who were ordered to kill Iraqi civilians, but if the media caught them all of a sudden their officers and NCO's denied giving the orders and recommended they be court martialed. Guess who the court (made up of their officers) believed? You see, the orders were illegal and every one is presumed to know the law.
Then you will read below how you called me SS. Hypocrite.
Which, if you were a US Marine, you were. US Marines, Army and Special Forces who fought in Iraq are thought of as members of the 21st Century SS. Not every US grunt killed women and children, nor did every member of the German SS kill women and children. Canadian military history records that many of the toughest German troops encountered by the Canadian Army in Normandy were SS, and they fought ferociously but honourably. Of course, being American you wouldn't know anybody's history but your own, unfortunately. The fact is that all German SS are viewed in the same light as the concentration camp guards and the Eastern Front killer squads even if they fought honourably in Normandy. As for US forces who fought in Iraq (and Vietnam), you're painted with the same brush whether or not you killed civilians like Kurt Whatzizname. You laughed when I wrote that America is a world pariah, but it's true. Your image is of the 21st Century SS. You might not like it and you might want to call me a hypocrite or name caller, but what I write is true. It's not so funny when your chickens really come home to roost, is it eh? Maybe you should take down that USMC icon? When you make the claim outside of America you get all of it, not just the US version you want. You're not in America now.
