I live in Canada. I don't need a gun to feel safe.
There are a large number of great countries where no one carries guns to feel safe. Shootings / violence happen everywhere.....but in MOST nations ..they are the exception......not the rule.

the reality is that there is very little chance you will ever be confronted with a gun in Canada.

I don't need a gun to feel safe. I need a gun to shoot somebody threatening me with deadly force.

I know you like to pretend that people don't get murdered in Canada, but they do. Sorry to bring you face-to-face with reality.
No one is pretending that other nations don't have shootings murders etc. The differenceis tahat in many countries, CDA included, it is the exception.....not the routine.

I need a gun for picking off solicitors, door-to-door salesmen, Jehovah's Witnesses, Bailiffs, things like that.

Comic Relief:

My great, late best friend lived in Texas for a couple of years, and made friends with a neighbour. One day his neighbour was showing off his new purchase, a Kimber Custom Carry M1911 in .45 ACP. My buddy (who was not a gun guy) asked;

"Why in the world do you have that?"

Texan "Oh, that's just for shooting cans"

BF "Oh, good!"

Texan "Yeah. You know, Mexi-cans, Puerto Ri-cans, stuff like that"

LOL!!!

Hopefully not Can-adians.

It's not routine in the U.S. either. Colpy has repeatedly posted the statistics on gun homicides in various countries (even the ones that aren't the countries you denigrate as uncivilized but then get your knickers in a twist when Trump calls them "shitholes," which is essentially the same thing you're doing, only more honest), so there's little point in repeating that. The U.S. runs about 12,000 gun homicides per year. That's in a population of 328 million. So, to even things out, that's about five times your rate. Good for you. But I note that gun homicides in Canada are on the rise, despite increasing gun controls. Maybe them gun controls ain't working so good.

The reality is that the US is far more likely to have some idiot threaten anyone else with a gun than Canada. I don't know anyone who thinks they need a gun for protection.

Our Prime Minister needs people with guns around him wherever he goes . I can’t believe you didn’t know this .
nobody in the prime ministers security detail is armed.

i am in no way surprised that you don't know this.
