So why not a thread to keep track of Trump's stupid instead of spreading it out.

How soon until he tariff's the entire planet?
If you hadnt of painted yourself into a corner by blocking several of us you'd know about BRICS, deglobalization and the dollar crisis.

No idea, but sounds like coffee and cocaine are going up in the US. President Trump said his administration would impose 25% tariffs on Colombian goods coming into the U.S., retaliating against the South American country for rejecting two U.S. flights carrying migrants back home.

The move, which would mark Trump’s first use of (instead of threatening everyone) tariffs since his inauguration last week, came Sunday after Colombian President Gustavo Petro’s government said he had blocked U.S. flights of deported Colombians. Trump responded in a post on his Truth Social platform that the 25% tariffs would be raised to 50% in a week. Trump also said he was issuing a travel ban for Colombian government officials and visa sanctions on people connected to the country’s government, etc…
T wo U.S. military C-17s had diplomatic permission to land in Colombia when they left San Diego carrying roughly 80 migrants each, a defense official said, but that authority was revoked Sunday en route. The planes then returned to the U.S., the official said.

The tariffs and sanctions on Colombia were to be imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, the senior administration official said. That law grants the president broad authority to impose duties and penalties on other countries when he declares an economic emergency.

The act hasn’t previously been used to impose tariffs, though President Richard Nixon used a precursor to the law to impose 10% tariffs on all imports in 1971.

Must be some real shitty people if Colombia doesn't want them back.

And to be clear, the planes didn't land because they were MILITARY planes.

Had they been regular civilian planes, they could have landed.

Trump wanted them in Military planes to make some sort of strong man point.

Columbia basically told him to take that point and sit on it.

But if this is how Trump treats the first country that doesn't bow to his deranged demands, how will he treat us?

I still say fuck the US, turn off all the taps going to them and look to trade elsewhere.

Holy cow…it’s not Beau! Anyway FEMA was never meant to be a “boots on the ground disaster agency” but a continuance of government agency. It was built to protect politicians and government employees in the event of a disaster, & was never meant to deal with the public whatsoever.

Trump’s move to quickly threaten tariffs on billions of dollars in trade in oil, cut flowers, coffee and more served as a stark reminder of his eagerness to use economic tools to achieve geopolitical goals. But his rapid U-turn also illustrated why the president faces questions about his willingness to make good on his threats.

That uncertainty left a cloud hanging over global markets even after the decision was reversed. The weekend announcement made it clear that tariffs will be the first weapon Trump turns to for policy disagreements, while the rapid resolution will do little to quell investor nerves over their usage.
The White House claimed victory late on Sunday, saying Colombia had “agreed to all of President Trump’s terms” without delay, including the acceptance of deportees on US military aircraft. Colombian President Gustavo Petro had earlier refused to allow two military planes carrying deported migrants to land, objecting to the use of shackles and handcuffs on detainees.

Colombian Foreign Affairs Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo said in a video that both countries overcame the diplomatic “impasse,” adding that the president’s airplane will be ready to take the Colombians who were set to be deported back to the country.

Well, there's a move afoot in Congress to re-name Dulles International Airport "Donald J. Trump International Airport."

This is bad. I use that airport.

I don't want it to go bankrupt!

Hope I am allowed to post this in your hate thread.......

CNN expert admits Trump’s approval rating is higher than ever. It is also historic. Watch how the CNN host, who normally lives in her CNN 24/7 Trump hating bubble, is shocked.
