Giuliani pressed Trump to eject Muslim cleric from U.S., a top priority of Turkish president, former administration officials say
In private conversations in 2017, Rudolph W. Giuliani, who later became President Trump's personal attorney, repeatedly argued to Trump that the U.S. government should eject Fethullah Gulen from the country, according to multiple former administration officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe private conversations.
It��s unclear why Giuliani was championing a cause of such high importance to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He is not registered as a foreign lobbyist, as he would be required to do if he were being paid to lobby the U.S. government on a policy matter for a foreign interest.

Brouillette, a former Ford executive, currently serves as deputy energy secretary. Perry, a former Texas governor and GOP presidential candidate, announced his pending resignation this week amid mounting questions over his role in the Ukraine controversy that is the focus of the House impeachment inquiry.

Rep. Francis Rooney, Republican who wouldn't rule out impeaching Trump, will not seek reelection
Rooney (R-Fla.), a two-term congressman from a reliably conservative district, announced on Fox News on Saturday that he has decided not to run for reelection, which his spokesman confirmed. A day earlier, Rooney became the first House Republican to say he would consider voting to impeach President Trump.

Rep. Katie Hill to resign amid allegations of intimate relationship with staffer
In a statement, the freshman California Democrat said resigning was "the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but I believe it is the best thing for my constituents, my community and our country."
The House Ethics Committee had launched an investigation last week into whether the congresswoman had an intimate relationship with a staffer in her office in violation of House rules. Hill denied the allegations.

Oregon Republican Greg Walden joins GOP exodus from House as he announces his retirement
Walden, an 11-term lawmaker and ranking Republican on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, said he was confident he would be reelected but said it was time to "pursue new challenges and opportunities."
Walden becomes the 21st Republican to announce they are resigning, retiring or seeking another office as the GOP faces tough odds to reclaim the majority in 2020.
