Another approach might be to promote the installation of solar water heating systems in all new houses. It would definitely be easier to sort of cloak the $30,000.00 cost in the mortgage as opposed to asking people to cough up that kind of money separately. The energy savings would cover part of the cost increase.

That would mean that you would just pay 30K more, one way or the other. The developer is not going to foot the bill. In the meantime, as an advocate of this Holocaust you should feel obligated to pony up this cash or continue releasing CO2 into the air and cause additional damage.

Oh Bull$hit

Holocaust? Nobody has yet forced you to do anything although you likely will have to be forced, because even though most of the climate scientists in the world agree that global warming is going to be a problem, you don't believe it. More correctly, you choose not to believe it. Nobody asked that the developer eat the cost. Global warming is real and the worst polluters in the world are Canada and the U.S.. We are going to have to change the way we think, and the way we do things..............whether you like it or not.

Hey Juan... I am just repeating the GW BUZZ WORDS and Holocaust is one of them.

Forced... meaning at gun point? Goverment theft? A UN shakedown of US Businesses?

I know I haven't been forced and I will not be as long as bozos like Gore and the knucklehead Travolta remain hypocrits. They are the spokesmen of GW. The People will not allow it. Let the first Democrat grind our economy to a stop because of this alarmism and the GOP will sweep once again. Political suicide.

What will they do about China and India? NOOOOOTHING!

Before Canadians start pointing fingers at the US why don't you act locally and stop poisoning every third world country with Asbestos. Everyone knows it is a highly toxic carcinogen and yet Canada exports it to every developing nation KNOWING it is killing innocent people.

Hey Eagle,

Where is all that great American Ingenuity? I would have thought Americans would turn GW into a money making scheme and make billions. Think of all the new products and services, beaches in the Antarctic...etc......;-)

It's funny all this attention is paid to Gore now. Really our Government should be doing more to make the public aware of incentives that are offered. It's funny how so many Canadians like to bash the Americans over this, when really we are so much worse.

Take for example a solar water heater. A fellow I know in Florida can purchase one for roughly $2000. These are the incentives he has in Florida:
$450 subsidy from his county
$500 from the State
$2000 dollar credit from the feds. Likely they would make up whatever is left over.
Point is, after he purchases the equipment, he has all of these programs at his disposal.

What would I get in Nova Scotia?
10% rebate for the cost, up to $5000, or a rebate of $500.
That's it. If it were included in the price of a new home, and it lowered the energuide rating of the new home, again up to a $500 credit, depending on the rating.

Pathetic.

But, the SUN is needed to make any of those solar things efficient. Does that come with them?

Heh, you pays your money and takes your chances. Seriously I wasn't advocating for a total reliance on solar. I know there are issues to be addressed. I was simply pointing out that there are incentives out there, and that the Americans are ahead of us on that. Most people probably don't know that when they buy new appliances they can get rebates. Building something new on your house, you can get rebates there too. Who is going to tell us all of this, our accountant? The government makes a small announcement and then the only way you can know about this stuff is if you actively search out the information.

Or you can listen to the talking heads on the telly.

That's what I wonder (except the Antartic beaches). There is money to be made at this if they don't make economic catastrophe a self-fulfilling prophesy. Unless you're a fossil fuel profiteer this should be the new land of opportunity. The next industrial evolution.

When you really think about it, it truly is a money making scam. The GW groups want to squeeze and squeeze money out of our economy to promote their agenda. Force the life blood of the country to feed THEIR industry. The thing is that your Cause has been hijacked but the Liberal Elite and Hollywood types and that does not fly with the general public.

Any Chinese buying Carbon Credits? just curious.

Oh, on a serious note... Is Gore donating all of the proceeds of his movie to fight GW? I wonder how the Zinc Mining on his land negotiations are going. Another scar on the land in Gore's back yard, a highly toxic one at that but worth over $500,000!

Yeah Gore! Show them colors brother!

Unless everyone down their collectively announces Bush and Cheney as the conflict of interests kings of history the issue of Gore shouldn't be on the radar screen. The money to be made is by anyone not in the back pocket of the oil industry, not just Gore or scientists.

How is energy independance a scam? Maybe you like paying your electric bill. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who would love to see it go bye-bye. Seriously, do people think it's like divining meaning from rocks and tea leaves to think about the future...

I question your calling it a "movement". The evidence is there for all who are interested.
It's a movement, look at the folks trotting out in style to push the cause. Celebs, politicos and so on. It's a movement.
What the hell has socialist leanings(if they exist)to do with global warming?
Since most of the activists touting the benefits of Kyoto to fix the effects of AGW are socialists or at the least supporters of the left and the ideologies of the nanny state, it has a socialist tag bud, whether you like it or not. Suzuki is a devout socialist, prime example.
There is debate going on almost daily.
Yes they want to debate their thoughts and the merits of the science so much Suzuki stormed off a radio show when he was asked straight forword questions.
The science is very well backed up.
So is the science that exposes the lies in Gores movie as well as the holes in the AGW theory, such as several planets in our system growing warmer as well. Tell me juan, how are my trucks warming the temps on other planets?

It is not the fault of the scientists that you don't understand it.
Once again, when challenged you do not answer questions, you scoff and then as if on que, you insinuate that I must be of lesser intelligence. This coming from a supposed engineer that stated...
#juan said:
We are not talking about small pieces of steel here. These girders are huge. The steel is six inches thick.

I'm guessing you aren't a structural engineer.

With that in mind, I think I'll look elsewhere for an accurate disection of the AGW theory, balanced educated view of said theory or any professional opinions for that matter.
Exactly. Gore has won an Academy Award and he might even get a Nobel prize but if he's a Democrat he must be wrong, or stupid, or something.
I don't care what his political denomination is, he lied. That hold no political stripe, that's just cold hard fact.
Defeat? Hell no. I just won!
I don't think so, you just skirt answering or acknowledging inconsistancies in Gores movie, the AGW theory and insinuate that those that question you, Gore or the science, must somehow be unintelligent.

Seeing as you haven't put up much of debate, refuted any of the accusations and left most questions unanswer and resorted to what ammounts to childish crap, I'ld say you lost.

Don't you have a pretty big cap and trade market in Chicago? The world's first GHG trading market I believe.

I think it speaks for itself...it isn't broken and America isn't fixing it! That's ingenuity. Just because some lefties believe there is a problem doesn't mean there is one. Think of it this way lefties...just because we on the right think there is a God deosn't mean there is one....

When the "lefty vs righty" thing dies, I'll have lots to add.... but for now that horse isn't dead.

I Don't think that horse will ever die to tell you the truth.....maybe some people should learn how to ride her.

Fixing implies there is some critical point. It's either broke in your case or it isn't, which is a pile. It's more like an automobile. You could drive the thing without any maintenance until it breaks down, or you can take measures to ensure the machine runs well.

The issue of God is lame and totally out of context. There is no proof for or against God, you either believe or you don't. Climate is either warming or it isn't. That we can say for sure. Either CO2 increases heat retention or it doesn't. That we can say for sure. Either humans are major contributor or we aren't. The certainty on that has been increasing.

Yeah, that gets so tiring and monotonous, the facts and constructive ideas get lost in the shuffle
of seeing who can get across the best 'nasty one liners' or more, against the other, politically.
