The NDP are naive enough to think that they got elected because the people actually bought their BS when in reality it is a penalty for the Conservative government for being overrun by ijits. I don't know if Alberta has recall legislation but if they do expect it to be put to good use at the earliest possible moment. Otherwise it is going to be a long hard four years.

Those can't be REAL Albertans!!

Real Albertans smell like benzene and cow poo and think that carbon dioxide is a Commie thing from Ontario and Quebec.

Yes and it seems Mentalflossy has a new buddy, Cannuck..

Two peas in a pod.

It's all the carpet baggers from the east... They paid for homes that are 3 times that of other areas and now there are no jobs, high unemployment and many people can't sell their homes now..

They are stuck with an expensive mortgage.. some are going bankrupt... leave them all freeze in their own created agony.

The housing bubble is about to burst..

Sounds like Boomer and Flossy are buddies...both gleeful over the economic downturn. I can't say I'm surprised.

Most Albertans seem to be drunk when they fill out polls or vote on things.

I always know a psuedo scientific theory is bankrupt when it resorts to polls rather the science and facts to support its case.

I suppose if you go into fear mongering hysterics, you'll get some to believe you.. you can, after all, fool some of the people all of the time.

As a faithful cult follower you would know all about that.

Yeah, well, as I couldn't find the actual poll results, I wonder if those news people invented the story.
BTW, you do know the definition of scientific theory, right?

There are two main definition of cult. I'd say the first applies to me.

1. a particular system of religious worship, especially with reference to its moral precepts, rites and ceremonies.

2. a religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader or contrived ideology.

An example of the second would be pagan, neoconservative, libertarian, apocalyptic, gun hugging, global free market capitalism.. a particularly malevolent and virulent spawn of puritanical Calvinism and its grossly deformed offspring of radical individualism.. uhh.. like you.

Nonsense. Ther are many definitions that could be considered "main".
The main anthropological definition goes something like - a society for the purpose of studying and enacting magical, ritualistic, or other religious activities.
Or, "a relatively small group of people having religious beliefs or practices regarded by others as strange or sinister." - from the definition supplied by Google.
Merriam-Webster says:
"Full Definition of CULT

1
: formal religious veneration : worship
2
: a system of religious beliefs and ritual; also : its body of adherents
3
: a religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious; also : its body of adherents
4
: a system for the cure of disease based on dogma set forth by its promulgator <health cults>
5
a : great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work (as a film or book); especially : such devotion regarded as a literary or intellectual fad
b : the object of such devotion
c : a usually small group of people characterized by such devotion"

ANY religious organisation qualifies under at least one of those definitions.
