No you brain dead fukk. I just applied logic and couldn't imagine a government could destroy an industry in six months. Maybe the fall of oil prices is a factor. You think? No you don't. You are a right wing rage junky.
I am not surprised by you idiocy though.
Rage Junky - lol.

Now that is an interesting take on the recent economic downtown in Alberta. Are we perhaps forgetting the fact that one of the biggest factors in the Alberta election, leading to the defeat of the Progressive Conservatives, was the clear evidence of an economic collapse developing under Progressive Conservative stewardship? The New Democrats inherited a mess from the PCs; it is going to take more than a first six months in office to clean it up.

That might be a little bit of hyperbole! :) :) N.D.P. never has done a hell of a lot for industry that I could see. Wasn't that the beginning of the end for Ontario?

Commodity prices have collapsed around the world and the NDP has
said it won't impose new taxes for some time yet
A capital strike,
Ummmm, they already have increased taxes... Happened within the first few weeks.

... Then again, that's what socialist gubmints do ~ tax things to death and if it still moves, regulate it into oblivion.

if that were the case governments should take the
whole industry over and re-lease to responsible people.

We will take your suggestion under consideration Comrade Stalin.

Don't call us, we'll call you

Ahhhh, the swan song of the ineffective... Making excuses well in advance of knowing they will be making things far worse

Alberta is so screwed right now .

Interesting that this coincides with the rest of the country being screwed.

Coincidence perhaps?

Sure, just like Harper destroyed Ontario's manufacturing sector all by himself.

He did, did he.

and no, I didn't miss the implied purple.

what's hilarious, is the fact that you are implying that since the lefties blamed Harper for something he really had very little control over, that it's ok to blame Notely for something she had no control over. It really highlights how disingenuous you are.

Oh, you mean the same taxes that the PC's had said they were going to do?

are you suggesting that Alberta was in great shape financially under the last few PC governments?

Uh yes, you did. And by a ****ing country mile I might add.

No, what's hilarious is the highlighted disingenuousness of your pathetic strawman. I implied nothing. It's called "sarcasm". You should look up the definition.

If you're seriously asking me that question, you're even dumber than I've given you credit for.

Oh, you mean the same taxes that the PC's had said they were going to do?

Ahhh, I get it... Because you thought that the PCs would do it, it makes damn grumpy's statement magically factual that they didn't increase taxes.

Thanks fer comin' out... Lemme see if Vanna can scrounge up some sort of consolation prize for y'all

PS - The Cons never indicated that they were moving to a progressive income tax scheme.

(I highlighted the important words for ya)

are you suggesting that Alberta was in great shape financially under the last few PC governments?

Thanks, seeing how I get to pick and choose between 'the last few PC governments, I can confidently respond 'Yes' to your question

I was just saying to my wife this morning, what happened to the billions given
over the years in tax relief? Some of this money should have been held in a
reserve fund.
Secondly why is it when students, farmers, veterans or some other group gets
a bit of help we call it a cost and a hand out, yet when the oil folks or corporations
get billions in handouts we call them intensives.

I have read over and over how the car companies and banks should have been
allowed to fail remember the conservative rantings? I didn't agree and as others
didn't either. Yet the same conservative voices are blaming the NDP and the feds
for doing nothing in their view to help the oil industry. Remember the folks who
preached free enterprise calls for winners and losers and now the tune has
changed. I do agree that Alberta needs help and there is a crisis. I also believe
the time has come for companies to be responsible and if they decide to move
their capital as Boomer says fine. Alberta should take their licenses and assets
here that are left and sell them to others after all, all those tax breaks paid for the
asset.
It is time to examine under what conditions we help corporations. If they leave they
pay back the breaks they got. I guess we might have to legislate loyalty as these
companies apparently no long have their moral compass. Legislating conditions is
appropriate in my opinion instead we have governments that will give them more.
The NDP has had its boondoggles like any other group but this mess is the responsibility
of the Alberta Conservative Governments since Lougheed for they let these guys do as
they like

Are you on some kind of mind altering drug? WTF are you babbling about? Oil prices are under $30 a barrel. Do you expect the oil company's to continue pulling it out of the ground willy nilly? Do you expect them to sink billions into exploration with no return?

How about this. The price of apples just dropped to a dime a bushel, you gonna keep growing them for the foreseeable future at a loss?
