Because, by your own admission, you are one of the reasons he is what he is and knows what he knows.

Really gerryh, what did I admit??

That a Islamist terrorist who has already killed in the name of his religion, should be locked up or stripped of his citizenship and sent packing back to his adopted country.

Now I'm watching Velocity, and the new Electric BMW cars.. better than talking about Omar, the Islamic Terrorist.

Got a houseful here already. Umm maybe I am helping my case. 28 just puts light on how long he has already been incarcerated (over 12 years)- the most heinous murderers, rapists and thugs seldom serve more than 7 years for committing crimes at age 15.

It's easy to say that 'society' ought to take responsible, but when the little darlin is living down the street from you, the situation changes

It's O.K. Capt. I may well turn out to be wrong, as we don't know for sure he won't reoffend. I like to give him credit for the possibility of a dreadful upbringing and would like to see him given a second chance (under strict supervision for a few years)

Reoffending is something that remains an issue for anyone that has had their brush with the law, this is not limited to Khadr.

Further, the focus is solely on one event (Cpl Speer) rather than the many events that he has directly and indirectly participated in.... I understand that the purists will apply NorAm standards and state that without eye-witness accounts, Khadr was active in only one situation.

With this in mind, I might remind you of the many photos of Khadr assembling bombs and pics of this man toting ears, hands and feet that were cut from the bodies of dead combatants.

That way everybody loses. Isn't society capable of taking a boy who is off the track at age 15 and getting him back on it? The alternative is to let him rot for the next 60 years at public expense. Who gains from that?

Everybody has already lost, except Khadr.

After his life in the Middle East where he was doing things like this:

Picture removed. You should have posted a link instead.

No dismembered body parts.
Slippery slopes and all that.

Do you really believe that there are enough psychologists this side of hell to 'reprogram' him to live a productive life from here on in?

Face it, he is broken beyond any form of repair

I hope so, we rescue and bring child soldiers into Canada...so let's hope so. We also have a former radical Islamist who now works for and advises CSIS.

Well he's finally been released (under stringent conditions) about 6 years late. I wish him well and hope he finds Canada to be a tolerant country.

Damn. Busted.

OK, we confess. Every Canadian who isn't Red Green or Celine Dion is actually an American deep-cover agent sent in to screw up Canada.

Sorry.

I bet there's more people prepared to hire him than would be prepared to hire you or me!
Sure and they get to pay them less then you would ever consider .

Sure and they get to pay them less then you would ever consider .
And in the right circumstances your government will even subsidise the hirer . Especially if he (or She ) is an immigrant themselves .
Then when business slows down and we can pay them pokey , all the while the E.I. recipient is living in their employers house .

The guy's been out of jail for 24 hours. He should be given a chance to get his bearing. Our illustrious Prime Minister has been acting like a real TWIT on this issue. It will probably come back to haunt him on election day. Correcting a system is one thing, hag riding a guy is something altogether different!
