Alberta takes aim at Netflix kids’ movie over oil concerns. Is it overreaction?

Is it just a fun kids’ movie about an adventure-loving family with a talking pet grizzly bear?

Or is it really a piece of cunning anti-oil propaganda, warping the minds of innocent children against Canada’s energy industry?

That’s the debate raging in Alberta this week after the Jason Kenney government set its sights on Bigfoot Family, an animated children’s movie currently popular on Netflix.

Another slanted article by the turdOWE financed media.

S'matter flosshole? You sound disappointed that the Alberta govt is going on a campaign against the lies and propaganda about Canada's energy industry. You support lies and propaganda do ya?

Canada's energy industry generates 3% of the world's total electricity in a year and does so 81% emissions-free 24/7/365. Yet it's always Germany or Denmark or some other Eurotrash nation that gets credit for it's emissions-free power.
Canada's heavy oil producers have reduced emissions from production more than any other heavy oil producing country. In fact they've reduced it by more than all the other heavy oil producers combined.

You cheered the death of the KXL for the second time and yet you seem completely unperturbed that America's heavy oil production continues apace. Are you actually an American? Why would you cheer what is clearly an attack on Canada's oil sands when that same country still has it's own oil sands and other heavy oil production going on with no Biden EOs to end them anytime soon? You might wanna note that O'Bumwad pulled the same shit. It's called protectionism. something you and the rest of the leftard-o-sphere seemed to take issue with when Trump engaged in it, yet two Democrap presidents get a free pass about engaging in protectionism. Interesting.

If you really had a clue what was going on, it's systematic attempt by the US to make our oil worthless on the market thus making them our only foreign customer. Why that matters is because oil is now considered to be a strategic resource. The US has 1/7th the proven oil reserves of Canada with 10x the population. Not to mention, guess who the number one user of fossil fuels in the world is. Nope, not the American public, It's the US military. No oil, no foreign excursions, and more importantly, no really effective military defense. And best of all, they won't even have to fight a war to get it. They're double-ending the savings.

Think about it Flossy. The US has basically secured a very large supply of oil for THEIR military at Canada's expense and you cheer it on like a good little puppet. Makes a body wonder just which country your loyalties lay with.

‘It’s silly’: Director of Bigfoot movie thanks Alberta energy centre for controversy

The director of a children’s movie about Bigfoot wants to thank the Alberta government’s energy centre for starting a “ludicrous” fight over the film.

Ben Stassen laughed several times as he told The Canadian Press that the animated “Bigfoot Family” had dropped from the top 10 list of most-viewed films on Netflix about 15 days after its February debut.

After the controversy earlier this month, “it went back up to number eight and stayed there until last Sunday,” Stassen, who also produced and wrote the movie, said from his home in Brussels.

The Children’s Movie that Infuriates Canada’s Oil Industry

Shannon Phillips, provincial MP for the New Democratic Party, said this initiative reflects the problems of the conservative government of Jason Kenney. “They do not have an employment program and their leader is deeply unpopular, so they turn to these issues,” she said, lamenting that taxpayer money serves to fuel these issues.
