Someone will replace him for sure but even though he had trouble with a light machine gun his organization and planning skills were very good. Zarqawi and his crew are behind just about every major attrocity and attack in Iraq. He started the beheadings, bombing of Shite Mosques to create dissension.

And now that sucker is gone. BuBye.

Oh... and it won't be his second in command that will be stepping in... the USAF got him too!

glad they got him, btw, although I doubt he's not replacable.

yeah someone else will just step in. He was a moron if you ask me. Didn't even know how to fire a light mechine gun.

Glad the got him, but I thought the same thing and so do the other Marines in my office...We all said, "Well..somone in Al Queda just got a promotion today..."

I wonder where the person who dropped the dime on A-Z is going to move to? And I wonder what they'll do with the $25 million? Probably make huge donations to Hamas or some other charity...

Yes there are rumors that people in his own organization dimed him out. So one would be insurgency leader may ask the question...

"If we have a leak and one of our own sold out Zarqawi... I am not so sure I want to get "on point" on this organization."

So yes the guy couldn't clear a jam from a machine gun but he did know his stuff.

The only class he missed in Afghanistan was to stay out of buildings that have J-DAMs falling on them.

Jay, why the hell would i support someone who kills innocent people.

However, Al Qaida in Iraq, isn't the insurgency, it wasn't even the majority of the insurgents. Most insurgents now are either Sunni or Shite killing each other, and nationalistic groups of Iraqis, and then their is the foreign presence which isn't well liked.

So this shouldn't effect anything. Good he is dead, but Al Qaida and who knows there number will find a new leader, and the tens of thousands of Iraqi insurgents will keep on fighting.

What a GREAT DAY!

This blood sucker was the mastermind behind the whole insurgency and now he is finished.

Chalk one up for the USAF! Nice shot guys!

Mastermind of the whole insurgency. That is to laugh. Al Qaida in Iraq was a small fraction of the overall insurgency.

Nice try though.

Once again my sympathies. I know it was a huge blow to you to hear about the Terrorist Top Guy in Iraq meeting up with the business end of an F-16.

This was a nice and important kill no matter how much you try to downplay it. It is world news and it is a blow to the insurgency.

So the Lion is now an imperialist symbol?

I thought the Lion was a symbol of the UK.

Does Canada have a symbolic animal?

If so is that a symbol of Canadian Imperialism?

Jay has a sense of pride in his country and has chosen a picture that reflects that.

No more, no less.

But hey... I know you are having a tough day.

unless you think the beaver is ... um... imperalist. No I don't consider Canada to be imperalist or even the UK currently, but the symbolism from imperalists days are still there, such as the lion and the union jack, which jay represents nicely I may add.

Anyhow funny enough I couldnt remember Frances symbol. Was it a dragon?

Just because some of us have a different view that does not mean that we support or condone the actions of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. However I do understand a different point of view. In some Iraqi’s minds they have been invaded and therefore must defend there land at all costs and if that means killing some of there own then that is fine. If we got invaded lets say by the China I am sure we would defend our homeland anyway necessary.
Every one knows that Saddam Hussein was an evil dictator but it was not up to the U.S.A. to remove him from power it was up to the people of Iraq, and if they could not do it themselves then they should have asked for help, but none of that happened the U.S.A. took it on themselves to remove him and now we have a very unstable middle east and the Iraqi people are worse off then they ever were. I do not like death, anybody at any time so yes it upsets me that these people are dead and in my humble opinion the death toll will continue to rise with or without Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Forced Democracy never works.

I agree with you.

So really it is not that he has an animal but the UK has chosen the wrong animal. You think that perhaps the UK should get rid of the lion and get a more politically correct animal?

How about they change the lion to... lets see... a salmon?

And maybe they should change the Union Jack to a plain white flag with a Yellow Smiley Face.

Would that be acceptable and less threatening to you?

EagleSmack, no, I was making an opservation in retort to his own about the soviet flag. Trying to dismiss him by just implying we should dismiss him because of him using a symbol, when the symbol itself is harmless.
