Climategate: Six Million Dead Fish, Alligators, Turtles and Dolphins Floating Down Bolivian Rivers

Monday, 09 August 2010 08:10

'Over 1 million fish (now updated to 6 million) and thousands of alligators, turtles, dolphins and other river wildlife are floating dead in numerous Bolivian rivers in the three eastern/southern departments of Santa Cruz, Beni and Tarija.
"The extreme cold front that hit Bolivia in mid-July caused water temperatures to dip below the minimum temperatures river life can tolerate. As a consequence, rivers, lakes, lagoons and fisheries are brimming with decomposing fish and other creatures.
"Nothing like this has ever been seen in this magnitude in Bolivia. Inhabitants of riverside communities report the smell is nauseating and can be detected as far as a kilometer away from river banks.'

I personally think it's funny that you conflate weather and climate. :D
Of course you would when you are so far behind the 8 ball.

I asked a question about the events of Dec 2005 and january 2006 which truncated a natural 7.2 year cycle to 6.1.

How did man and CO2 do that? Was that factored into climate models? Are nutations even considered in climate models? How can they even be factored if so erratic?

Well you're at it. Tell me exactly what my generation owes you like you claimed in a previous post?

A complete map of Zelda?

AGW Denial, The Greatest Scam in History?

No, only the second greatest.

The first one was perpetrated on mankind in the seventh century by an illiterate, pedophile terrorist.

It means that groups like the IPCC, Green Peace and Sierra Club are aggressively pursuing their agendas and have no compunction about perpetuating fraud in order to achieve their goals.

I won't speak for organizations like Green Peace or PETA because they don't actually have ideals with the science in mind, but in no way does this validate some 'aggressive' agenda on IPCC's behalf, nor are they actively perpetuating fraud. Taking that stance is a bit.... umm... alarmist, I'd say.

It proves it's winter in the southern hemisphere

That's great. Maybe it is winter for them this year, who knows.

weather != climate.

Bolivia Weather

The only thing predictable about Bolivia's weather is its unpredictability. For most people the climate is generally cooler than they have expect. Even in the humid forests of the North frost is not unheard of during a surazo, a cold wind blowing from Patagonia and the Argentine Pampa. Generally speaking, Bolivia has two seasons, wet and dry, but in a country as geographically diverse as Bolivia, local weather patterns vary greatly.
In the highlands, the dry season is between May and October, but even the mountains' wet season isn't always really wet and the dry season sees its share of downpours. In La Paz and Sucre, temperatures during the day in the dry season are perfect for a light fleece and some travelers even try to sneak in a day with only shorts. Uyuni and Potosi, however, can be chilly in the middle of the day, and temperatures can drop below freezing at night - bring lots of layers!
The Amazon experiences...you guessed it, rain and heat and more rain and heat! The average daytime temperature is 30-32° C (85-90° F), while nights can cool down to 20° C (68° F). They do have a wet and wetter season with the wet (dry) season corresponding with the dry season in the highlands.

captain morgan, one of Al Gore's ancestors was the illegitimate (you know, BASTARD) child of Pope Stabianus. Just ask petros. As Gore's cousin, he should know.

The IPCC has not only accepted the frauds by Green Peace (Amazon Rain Forest speculation) but also incorporated that "data" into their policy.

For a group (IPCC) that professes "peer review" and full scientific research as the fundamental basis of their conclusions/recommendations, it does not bode well for that organization when the underlying "science" has been determined to be fraudulent.

In the end, the IPCC retracted that specific component, along with others (Himalayan Glaciers as another example) but the fact remains that their initial support was fueled by willful ignorance.

You interpret their interest in promoting patently false and fraudulent studies & research.

I would actually be convinced if you brought something to the table and didn't just use politically charged diatribe. I agree that maybe they might have made some mistakes in some areas but this doesn't, in any way, validate fraud or bad research.

I really don't mind if you back up your claims. Go for it.

Regina Newspaper Calls on Skeptics to Put Their Money Where There Mouth Is

Local Regina publication, Prairie Dog Magazine, is laying down the gauntlet by asking climate change skeptics to record their doubts on paper.
The magazine has created a declaration that outlines various scenarios for rejecting scientific consensus and has mailed it to several public figures who have openly expressed skepticism on the issue of global warming, including Stephen Harper, Margaret Wente, Rex Murphy, Tim Ball and Ross McKitrick amongst others.
The plan to check in with the skeptics in 10 years is all about "accountability" and the magazine states that should they be wrong they will give credit where credit is due. And if they're right.....it's a sad bet to win.

The substantiated proof has been bandied about these forums for a long time now. If you question the accuracy of my statement, you are welcome to google it yourself, no doubt you'll find thousands of links that describe exactly what I have posted.

Here's a start for ya. Walter posted it 2 days ago.
