How do you really feel, Rosie?
Senior Liberals within Trudeau's own party, individuals with a far more educated (and historically informed) grasp of geopolitics, were dismayed by Trudeau's bolter posture on the bombing campaign but could not talk him out of it. He should listen to them now and walk back his campaign vow. Only little men are afraid of admitting wrongness.
That's the Toronto Star, in case you didn't click.
Six weeks isn't enough time to properly vet migrants headed for Canada. That's just foolhardy.
Based on the words used, hardly fawning, I'm moving more towards "smack up the head of Liberal leadership" point of view.

It only gets better for "Prime Minister Selfie".
This is the sixth G20 summit I've covered and I've never seen a host broadcaster ignore a speech by a G7 leader like Canada. Mind you, Trudeau's was a speech worth ignoring, full of bland, windy platitudes.
That's because in the real world of realpolitik, they know what Canada voted for.

We stand with France!

Well... just a little behind France and the others standing with France, maybe.

You go get em boys! We'll hold your jackets!

See, we're contributing! And it's dangerous work! Some of these jackets have wool and we have allergies!

Ah, but 'they also serve who only stand and wait'..................besides someone has to pick up all the pieces and carry on.

I just watched 'Question Period' tonight and I was dismayed and embarrassed by what I heard
From what I surmised, Trudeau went to the conference prepared to talk about the economy. He was probably well scripted before he went on what he would say. However he didn't get a chance to air his plan to save the world's economy because the topic was all about terror and ISIS.
Every other world leader there committed to solidarity with France in their fight against ISIS and to ramping up their efforts to destroy them. Everyone except Trudeau, who didn't commit to anything! There is no doubt in my mind that, not being scripted for an answer, he just didn't know what to say.
Then Goodall was interviewed. He is confident that they will be able to proceed with admitting 25,000 refugees within the time frame and that the refugees screening is air tight. We have nothing to fear.
This, after learning that the suicide bomber in Paris came through Greece as a REFUGEE!
This, after B.C.s Premier Clark stated that the Federal Govt. has not approached them with any solid plan as to how and where the refugees coming to B.C. will be placed.
Other interviewees included a former French Ambassador to Canada and a former special forces expert. Although they were diplomatic in their answers and careful of what they said the implication that they disapproved of Trudeau's plan was evident.
The new Finance Minister was interviewed and answered questions in the typical Liberal fashion not committing to any specific plan but indicating that 'they were confident that they were on the right track'. (What masters of evasion this Liberal Government are!)
The Press Gallery also was diplomatic and careful not to be specific in their criticism of the terrorist and refugee agendas but it was clear there also that they were skeptical, if not downright critical of the Liberals.

If anything is going to derail the Liberal plans for refugees and their lack of enthusiasm for fighting ISIS, it will be a couple of serious terror attacks on North American soil. At this point, I am doubtful if even that would impress them. From my point of view this is an embarrassment to Canada before the whole world.

What worries me about our PM is that he does not display the capacity for being flexible. Very important quality in leader that.

Justine is an ideologue just like BHO.

If indeed he did surround himself with the brightest and best young minds in the Liberal party, then best they start making their voices heard.

Prior to the attacks in France, I can see those in the Liberal party toeing the line. In the aftermath and with Canadians feeling a tad edgy about the refugee plan, I would think more than a few of them are questioning the wisdom and swiftness of the intake.

While I prefer anyone to Harper I do agree Canada should not leave the field
even in the form of bombing raids on ISIS. When we are back there in full
force with boots on the ground and its coming it will be more difficult for our
military lets just get the job done

At least eight young jihadists, allegedly from the so-called Islamic State group, attacked the national sports stadium and also attacked outdoor cafes, a pizzeria and a rock club.

For the second time this year, Paris is terror-struck and shaken to its foundation. Pope Francis aptly described the attacks as “homicidal madness.”

What was Islamic State’s objective in attacking all these improbable soft targets? Madness is not a sufficient motive. Clearly, Islamic State’s 20-somethings were bombing and shooting up targets that youngsters frequented. Their objective: to kill as many people as possible in a pure revenge attack.

Islamic State (IS), a collection of young hooligans, misguided idealists, and bitter riff-raff, have warned the West, “we will make you feel what we have felt.” They adopted this slogan from the Chechen independence fighters who resorted to attacks on Russian civilians after Russian forces killed an estimated 100,000 of their people in the 1990’s.

Now, it’s Europe’s turn to feel some of the horrors of the wars in the Mideast.

France is a prime target because of its extensive and deepening military interventions in the Muslim world. Some 10,000 French soldiers or airmen and large numbers of intelligence operatives are involved in Syria, Iraq, the Gulf, Libya, Chad, Mali and Ivory Coast. France props up the authoritarian rulers of Algeria and Morocco

France is playing a central role in its former colonies, Syria and Lebanon. Paris appears to have long-range plans for expanding its influence in the Levant, including installing regimes attuned to French policies.

French warplanes are bombing Syria and this writer believes French special forces have been in combat in Syria, as they were in Libya when the western powers combined to overthrow the Khadaffi government.

France has made many enemies for itself across the Mideast. It appears only a matter of time before France’s partners in Mideast intervention, the United States and Britain, become new targets of jihadist violence.

There are two kinds of people in the world: those who think their government works for them, and those who think...
