RB,

Let me guess you were never on the debating team where you had to defend your position from a logical standpoint??

When I learned debating they taught me to point out that nonsense was nonsense was nonsense and move on. I've pointed out that your arguments are nonsense. It's time to move on.

should abortion be illegal?

What you put into your own body is your own choice, and so is what you take out of it.

There should be no laws against abortion, no laws against (adult) prostitution, no laws against drug use, no laws against what you can read or look at, and no laws against private sexual acts.

In Canada, and in most of the world, there are way too many stupid laws based on "morality" which end up causing far more harm than good.

The only laws we really need are those against harming other people. Most of the rest of the laws we have are bad ones that actually hurt the people they claim to protect.

BudBuddy,

Just wondering, at what age do you think a girl should be able to have an abortion without needing the consent of her parents?? Thus meaning the girl has complete control of her body and has the maturity of consent for this procedure??

Abortion is not as black and white as "are we killing a baby and is that right?", even though conservatives like to make it like that.

Social circumstances dictate that there are going to be cases where abortions are necessary. If the jackasses in Ottawa worked to improve those social circumstances, perhaps then the need for abortion would be greatly reduced. Instead of funnelling hundreds of millions to their friends, why couldn't the Liberals funnell tens of millions to helping teenage mothers financially with their pregnancy and aftermath of taking care of the baby?

Why isn't the adoption process simplified especially for teenage mothers so that they don't feel overwhelmed and in some cases villanized by the system?

Why do right-wingers frown on teenage mothers for being horrible, slutty sinners, yet also frown on teens (and single parents) who have had abortions for being baby killers?

The "pro life" movement is essentially a "pro birth" movement. No one cares about what happens to the baby or the mother once the baby slides out of the vagina. Either that, or they really suck at showing that they care.
