you guys are all crazy.

what is the point of this thread?
if it's to have a theological debate, i think you've exhausted the issue and your own beliefs thereof.

do you, Tibear, actually think you're going to convince RB that it is wrong to have an abortion.
do you, RB, actually think you're going to make Tibear consider the option that there was no Jesus, or that abortion is OK under some conditions?

you guys have your own opinions, hooray for you all.
and hooray that we all grew up in a democratic society that encourages free speech.

hooray, hooray.

back and forth back and forth back and forth back and forth back and forth.

now shut up.

MerryClaire,

I agree with you that we're not going to change anyone minds. However, if people are open to listening to each other's opinion then people may at least have an insight into the reasons why people have different believes.

It is unfortunate that people like Vanni, peapod and edgerunner are unopen to debate. I mention the pope, only in context of euthanasia because of his current health situation and they go on tirades about subjects that have no relevance to the current topic.

RB, should the pro-lifers then be called anti-abortionists/anit-euthanasia/anti-mercy-killing/anti-murder/anti-suicide.... I don't know about you but that too long a title. I prefer pro-life it is shorter and is a better depiction of their beliefs.

Those are all separate issues, tibear. Besides, most anti-abortionists are also pro-death penalty. If you insist on rolling all those things together you have to add pro-state sanctioned murder to the list.

RB,

I think perhuaps there is some confusion.

In the big picture there are really two groups. One is the pro-life movement that is by far the larger group where everyone is against the taking of human life under most situations. (Wartime, self defense and possibly in extreme cases of saving another life being the only exceptions.)

Another much smaller group are religious fundamentalists who take the bible literally and believe in the "eye for an eye". These typically are the abortion doctor killers and the clinic destroyers and are fully in favour of capital punishment. As I mentioned, this group is much smaller but gets why more press because they make better news.

Which group does the media find more interesting, a group of people demonstrating against abortion/euthanasia/capital punishment or a blown up abortion clinic??

Your right the smaller group tends to be a little crazy and gives the whole pro-life movement a bad rap which it really doesn't deserve.
