what i dont understand is that mohammad was a human being, and he created the koran and islamic religon. Would that mean the koran was fabricated by man? The same as the bible....

Quoting JLM Attn- DhW- were you going to explain the difference between Islam and Muslim to me? If not does anyone else know?

In the simplest possible terms: Islam is the belief,
Muslim is the believer.

Quite so, Dexter. I thought JLM was being a wise guy, that he didn't really expect an answer. That is why I didn't answer him.

But Muslim and Islam really is no different that Christian and Christianity, Hindu and Hinduism, Buddhist and Buddhism, Sikh and Sikhism etc.

Nevermind, I'll do an accurate and succinct description:
a Jew is a self-proclaimed descendant of Jacob. An Israeli is a native of Israel.
Close enough. I've been busy this afternoon or I'd have answered sooner. Jewishness actually supposedly traces back to descent from Abraham and Isaac as well as Jacob, and an Israeli I'd have said is a citizen of Israel.

Sure, we believe you.

Ya think? Aren't you clever to have sorted that out?

Hmmm...so you are not supposed to recite rhe Koran to others???You are supposed to blast it all over the internet???? I think not.

Oh, I have a the Arabic version of my name now. I suppose because He has me talking to you.

Does Al Yasa resonate with you??????

Sure they are supposed to blast it all over internet, the ultimate aim of Muslims is world evangelization.

But that doesn’t mean we have to take it seriously.

No worries. I suggested it half in jest with an eye on illustrative purposes anyway. Some people equate the two terms a lot.

Was there ever any doubt Jonnny? Of course all the major religions were invented by man (emphasis on man, they were not invented by woman).

An excellent example of your presumptuousness, actually I had no idea- just thought one was a version of the other.

I really thought you were pulling DHW's leg, JLM. That is why I didn't answer it, since the answer was so obvious.

And in what way was the answer "so obvious"?

Sure the answer was obvious, JLM. Islam refers to the religion, Muslims refers to the follower. That is why I was surprised that you asked such a simple question (what is more, kept on asking it), that is not like you.

A Muslim follows Islam like a Christian follows Christianity. The problem is that Muslim doesn't phonetically fit with Islam. How come they don't sound alike. Why is not a follower of Islam a Islamist or Islamian? See! It is not that obvious.

If one is discussing Muslims or |Islam, then one would assume that they would at least know the definition of those 2 words.
