You're right Wednesday.

We were the interruption, not you.

Let me bring the thread back.

They way I see it there are 3 camps
on this Building 7 problem:

1. those who accept the official line
2. those who think it a conspiracy, that it was Bush
3. those who are asking questions that were not
answered adequately by either camp.

I was my desperate need (?) to ask a question which I keep turning over in my empty head.

Do you think that simple jealousy has played a role in binLaden's attacks against the U.S.

Remember how he was ostracized from his Saud family because he argued against their relationship with the U.S. - during the Gulf War?

I can't see that man having the "good of the people" in his vision at all, but merely a line in the sand to show his power (to his family as well as his enemies).

I think Osama bin Laden is an amazing character with
59 brothers extending from Connecticut to London
to Addis Ababba to Saudi Arabia.

It is no psychological mystery why some who hate
the ills of the West stir it over and over and over
until some of those who hate everything about the
West are much like White People who grew up from
day One hating the Blacks.

This is just another example of the myth we humans
hold about ourselves, thinking we are creatures of
logic.

The reverse is true. We vote emotionally first, then
look around quickly for those facts and logic that
support our gut feelings.

Osama bin Laden is typical of well-educated people
who lock on to a hardened view.

He explains his views with such unassailable logic
you often see in atheists, secularists, religious
fundamentalists, conservatives, and liberals.

These people change the world, while the moderates
become their janitors.

Sorry for my unintentional highjacking....

I think I probably don't have too much to say that anyone wants to hear or discuss anyway so I'll just leave CanContent and go elsewhere.

Thanks for the dialogue.

On the contrary, Valentine_Smith, you have much
to say and you are articulate.

We don't have to agree, and don't take Wednesday
Child's interest in the thread category the wrong way,
if I can be so bold as to speak for her.

And I'm just as guilty of hijacking the thread
and spinning off into other areas.

Every forum takes getting used to and you begin
to see the dynamics between everybody.

Hurray for the Brits, they are kicking butt on
a British forum against 9/11 conspiracy theorists.

Amazing.

Like I say there are 3 camps especially on Building 7:

1. those who don't question the official line
2. those who think Bush did it --- the conspiracy theorists
3. those who haven't gotten some answers from either

Valentine

My apologies - I was hoping the 9/11 topic would continue - and your environmental discussion was worthy as well. I hoped there was still room for 9/11 questions as I had just read through the long posts.

Please don't leave on my account - apparently I have been causing far too much trouble today and I will own up to it being my fault.

If the forum doesn't suit your interests - create your own topics to let us take part. Everyone here is eager to share in new ideas and if they are not - I wonder what they are doing here. :p

There is no official line regarding Building 7, other than assumptions, since the report is due sometime this summer.

Thanks for the correct ITN.

I'm guessing that some unanswered questions
will always look like a conspiracy to some, but more
often than not, some questions are unanswered
because after the fog of the moment with everyone
being so bewildered and distracted did not do
the necessary followup in a quick and timely matter.

Such as not inspecting the beams and shipping them
out. Mistakes on accurate forensics were undoubtedly
made.

We don't even require the best standards of ourselves
when in a moment of trial and bewilderment.

9/11 Conspiracy Theories:
"Bush was behind 9/11"

"No Plane Hit The Pentagon"

"Flight 93 Was Shot Down"

"The World Trade Center Twin Towers were Intentionally Destroyed with Controlled Demolitions"

Report by who?? governement contractor? enough to get a laugh at.

It needs to be done by independant, since this governement did enough to make us believe they hide something to the public we all have the reason to not believe them.

Of course, it took 432 days to get a bi-partisan comission on 9-11, which bush tried to stop the congress to do it, which bush and cheeney ask to appear together, withouth being under oath, and more importantly, no one in the world are allowed to know what was said inside, never seen in american history, The Treasury Department rejected a request from senators and refused to release a classified list of Saudi individuals or organizations suspected of financing terrorist groups, the white house censored 28 pages of the 9-11 report … double the money was invested in monica lewinsky affair, than 9-11, more than 10 video near the pentagone was confiscated in a min that follow the crash in the pentagone by the fbi, and none of them are allowed to be seen to the public.

THIS IS TO ME, THE PERFECT EXEMPLE OF A CORRUPT BANANA REPUBLIC.

No American institution can be trusted with the truth, certainly no national institution, witness the muzzling of science, and the constant lies from the administraton.

You're confusing a decrepit fringe socialist ideology that is governed by lying fascist dictators with that of accountability and transparency.

Of course, it took 432 days to get a bi-partisan comission on 9-11, which bush tried to stop the congress to do it,
------------------aeon-------------------------------------

Response: In my mind that made the commission
even more independent. In fact, the public damned
the whole idea of Bush asking Kissinger to chair it.
That was a really stupid idea. Kissinger has way too
much baggage and would be too careful not to upset
the official line. Kean and Hamilton, were great picks.
Both independent, and both reached across party
lines not giving a damn about any partisan matter but
what was good for the truth.

I've tracked those two forever in American politics
since I was little and have a lot of respect for their
sincerety and independence in thinking.

They've often proved you could get votes by being
your own man, and neither were afraid to lose an
election on principles.

You can't get better than that.

I really disapproved of Bush's initial stupid choice
of Kissinger.

-----------------------------------------------------------

which bush and cheeney ask to appear together,

----------------aeon----------------------------------

That was certainly suspicious on the surface.
But that was the only way the Commission could
get those two foot draggers in for questioning,
which makes it another point for the commission's
independence and resolve of especially those
two chairman, Kean and Hamilton, who both
complained on the slowness of administration responses.

On the other hand, for psychological reasons, I like
to take both suspicious people at the same time, just
to see how they interact and react to each other.

Separating those two accomplishes nothing because
you know they've already compared notes anyway.

---------------------------------------------------------

withouth being under oath, and more importantly, no one in the world are allowed to know what was said inside, never seen in american history,

--------------------------aeon--------------------------

It doesn't really work that way. You would think so.
But the reality is that bombshells are too good
to keep secret especially in front of two men like
Kean and Hamilton whose loyalty was often to no
one but their own principles.

-----------------------------------------------------------
The Treasury Department rejected a request from senators and refused to release a classified list of Saudi individuals or organizations suspected of financing terrorist groups, the white house censored 28 pages of the 9-11 report … double the money was invested in monica lewinsky affair, than 9-11, more than 10 video near the pentagone was confiscated in a min that follow the crash in the pentagone by the fbi, and none of them are allowed to be seen to the public.
-----------------------Aeon-----------------------------

The reality is that most of that information was given
to the the intelligence committees in the House
and the Senate, and by then the 9/11 commission
decided that they got as much as they could before
they changed direction at the end for an even more
worthy goal of prevention and explanation of
bureaucratic failure at every level of government.

Final thought:
It's a pretty damn good report in a damned imperfect world
and surprisingly avoids bureaucratese writing. You oughta
give it a second review.
