What is most shocking is that a religious group of 18 million folks manage to grab/control the headlines every single day ...... day after day. China has billions of people and we might hear a peep out of them once or twice a week. Canada has 30 million and we never are heard from on the international stage. We got 18 million religious zealots threatening the world 24-7.

its an interesting question.

have never been able to quite figure out why America is floating this particular boat, but they are.

the simple answer is that Israel is their proxy in the middle east and allows them to strike from there - but that is patently untrue.

The one place the Americans did not / would not stage out of in the Gulf Joke was Israel.

Why are Palestinians protesting in Gaza?

It's referred to as the largest open air prison on the planet. If you were in this situation, would you not at least protest?

59 people were killed by live ammunition and suffocating tear gas in Gaza yesterday. Here is the youngest: Laila Anwar Ghandour (9 months. She died after inhaling tear gas fired by Israeli soldiers who are filling the sky above Gaza with a white cloud of poison).

People die like this in Bethlehem too. Old people and babies. Tear gas can suffocate you or give you a heart attack.

I don't care what your eschatology or theology is. This is unnecessary and inexcusable. And if your heart is not moved, I asked if you would feel differently if this was a Jewish baby.

Conscience of the world, wake up!!!!!

Any position on Israel that is determined by words made up by dead men thousands of years ago is intrinsically invalid. Saying the Jewish people are more entitled to Israel than those who were living there seven decades ago because of some superstitious voodoo written in obsolete religious texts is not an argument. Religious freedom is important, and it’s important to be able to believe whatever you like, but your beliefs do not legitimize your actions upon other people. If you murder someone in the name of Allah, you have murdered someone. If you kill 58 people because you feel some ancient scripture entitles you to a particular section of dirt, you have killed 58 people. Your internal beliefs do not give you a free pass for your egregious actions upon others.

The reason for the extreme brutality that is being used against the Palestinian demonstrators appears to be the same as that used by the Chinese government in the Tiananmen Square massacre or the lynchings of the segregated American south: to send a message. That message is “Here is how we will deal with you whenever you hold these demonstrations.” They’re quashing the protests so violently and so aggressively not out of self defense, but to dissuade such protests in the future. All they have to do is be brutal enough to convince the Palestinians that such protests aren’t worth the cost of life, and whole generations could be dissuaded from future protests.

In a clip released by Israel, an official of Hamas, the terrorist group that exercises complete political and military control over the Gaza Strip, acknowledged that 50 of those killed during Monday’s violent riots belonged to Hamas.
Salah Bardawil told an interviewer that of the “62 people martyred, 50 were Hamas.”

The Times of Israel reported that the Hamas-run Ministry of Health in Gaza had previously said that 60 Gazans had died in the riots, which saw rioters throw firebombs and shoot at Israel troops. IDF Spokesman Jonathan Conricus posted the clip and added, “Take his word for it. This was no peaceful protest.”
It would also mean that the members of terror groups who were killed in the rioting would be 53, as Palestinian Islamic Jihad has claimed three.
Fathi Hamad, a member of Hamas’ political bureau, called on Gaza’s youth to continue the riots, saying “better death than humiliation.”
Previously, Israel had charged that 24 of the fatalities were determined to be members of terrorist groups, though most were from Hamas. Israel determined those numbers from claims by both Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad taking credit for the martyrdom of their members in addition to an investigation with Israel’s internal security service Shin Bet.
