The Economy and unemployment, are the most important issues facing Canadians, the lose of 400.000 Canadian jobs in two provinces only in two months of 2008, 2 1/2 years of one man Government...........
Transparency is not mentioned by the Conservatives this election.......they don't want to remind the voters of a broken promise....
The minister of agriculture makes hateful comments like "17 people die and too bad one is not a Liberal"....
Harper the one man show instead of telling the Canadian people what he will do to help the 400.000 Canadians who have lost their jobs to this day, is making stupid comments about Dion, Tim Horten and Donuts ....

The Conservatives must be stopped from forming a majority government....

I would like to withdraw my statement above, the 400.000 figure of jobs is incorrect.................I was miss informed.................

Why worry about humiliation this late Soc? I don't, you made a tiny error, I understand how it works man relax you were trying to do the right thing and dump crap on Harper, no body can possibly have anything but praise for your valiant good intentions. Canad needs more solid citizens like you sir. If the truth be known I was only to ready to accept the numbers as fact simply because it sounds right. By the way what was the right number?

Any stats on how many of those jobs were lost because of normal business layoffs, more efficient methods of conducting business, downturns in global economy, etc?

I heard the 9/11 attacks were Chretien's fault.

Our healthcare system failure is Yves Leterme's fault.

Alan Garcia caused the starter in my puckup to croak.

I was alive when that shuttle blew up right after takeoff so it's my fault.

NB's rate might be 8.8%, but if you're looking for employees, it's pretty hard to find one. I can only assume the 8.8% are people who specifically do not want to work.

Sorry, but although I don't like the Conservatives, I can not blame this for the unemployment situation.

The majority of the lost jobs is mainly to do with NAFTA, the Canadian Dollar jumping to close parity of the US's, high feul costs, and the US's piss poor economy at present.

Most jobs lost recently were related to the auto industry and lumber..... both major exports to the US. The US companies which had auto factories here in Canada shut the plants down..... the housing market in the US has gone to shat, therefore the lumber industry suffered.

It wouldn't have mattered which party was in power during this time, none of them would have had any quick solutions to these problems, and they'd all be seen as responsible with your reasoning.

And on top of that..... Harper was the leader of a Minority government..... a minority government with Liberals as opposition..... who did jack sh*t for the entire time they were opposition..... and as I see it, then entire minority government is to blame for not being able to help with these issues..... not just Harper and the Conservatives.

If it was a majority, I'd probably agree with you to some degree..... but it wasn't, and even if it was, I still wouldn't be able to put full blame on the Conservatives/Harper because these jobs were lost because of Idiots south of the border trying to save themselves some money at the expense of our workers.

If you want to try and save more jobs in the future from forign companies cutting and running, then abolish NAFTA.

Well I think it's pretty clear that these people who have lost their jobs really kinda sucked anyway. So what's the big deal?

I wish that philosophy applied to snivel serpents. I haven't seen many as useless as federal politicians and senior bureaucrats.
lol That reminds me, it looks like some nasty person shoe-horned me into the senate (I am not Stephen Hawkings tutor anymore). Guess I am the victim of the Peter Principle then. :((

That's about the number of the chronically disabled and the eternal welfare takers here. The only jobs lost here that I know of were a few call centres closing.

Yeah, when I look around here, there isn't much in job loss...... because there's no jobs to lose in the first place.

Oh Snap!

Actually a few people got laid off here at work a few months ago, due to a lower demand in sign production..... which would lead me to believe that either less companies are flowing into this area, or companies are begining to try and save their money unless they absolutely need a sign of some kind.

But besides the Lumber and Auto industries mentioned before..... oh and the Moirs chocolate factory shutting down not too long ago here, it hasn't been as Armageddon as some would think.
