Okay, one, I can't find it anywhere, even on the Charlotte Pride web page, that they did this.

Two - I can't find ANY reliable sources on this, only stuff from right leaning/conspiracy theory websites.

Three - IF this is true and it's being supressed, I hope the people who support Charlotte Pride throw up the BIGGEST objection and (gasp) protest against this.

IF it's true.

What IS true, at least, is that this person USED to be part of Charlotte Pride, but after it got out and he was charged with three separate counts of being a fucking disgusting human being, he left the organization (to which he should never have been put in charge of in the first place).

He served two years of a ten year sentence.

But that shouldn't have mattered.

He shouldn't have been in that position to begin with.

Unless you can find/show proof that he actually IS the 2023 recipient of the Harvey Milk award from Charlotte Pride, this story is BS. Considering the tourism draw that it is for the city, it'd be fucking suicide if they actually did do this and would throw everything they've done for the past 30 years into the garbage fire.

So yeah, highly suspect.

I actually started to - when they made the claim, I went to research it.

And it only appears in conspiracy/right wing "fake news" places.

The first story about it posted SIX days ago; the latest was the Rebel article, 23 hours ago.

In that time NO MSM picked it up to report on it? It'd be a fucking GOLD mine of clicks.

Yep, did that too.

I got the stories about awards he got, about his conviction and prison time, his stepping down from the position he was in with CP pride, but those were only up to 2018 I think? Everything recent was all out of this BSery.

Considering how easy it'd be to PS the layout for whoever won the award, it'd certainly be easy to fake it.

A 2000 story in the Spartanburg Herald-Journal said Sevearance-Turner had been a youth minister at a church in Gaffney. A jury there found him guilty of fondling a 15-year-old teenage church member while the boy slept. He said his conviction had not stopped him from achieving success, such as being chamber president.

The initial issue was that there was a claim he won an award this year - the Harvey Milk Award - despite his previous history.

But what you list here was the only awards I could find about him too, and that was years ago, not 2023. Those are bad enough - but again, I didn't find anywhere that it's stated the awards were removed due to discovery of his history. They SHOULD, mind you.

Supper did look good. Definitely beat my reheated food, lol. Also, that plate in the last picture... omg, memories of MY childhood; we had that pattern.

Actually, if he was 20 and the minor was 16, while technically still illegal, it isn't quite the same magnitude of an infraction as a 35 year old and a 16 year old or a 20 year old and a 9 year old.
