It certainly does. You know what don't make sense? A bunch of old White people that never gave a damn about minor college sports suddenly being so desperately concerned that they're demanding Congressional action.

Makes a body wonder if this is really about sports at all.
Yup how the mighty have fallen , defending pedos .

Tail wagging the dog. Don't fall for it. The White Right is in an uproar. They do not give two shits about college swimming competitions. Never watched one, don't care. This is just their latest OUTRAGE!

Well, I do qualify as White, & some days I feel older than others, so I qualify there too.

For perspective, before two months ago, I can’t honestly tell you that I’d ever Googled “Ukraine” before…but I sure have recently and know know more about (but still almost nothing) Ukraine than I ever thought I would.

So, do I really care about US Collage Swim Meets? Full Contact Lawn Bowling? Etc…? No, I really don’t. I do not have a dog in that hunt, but the topic seemed interesting (Transgender in Sports) & here we are. Did some Googling yesterday.

Do you know how much controversy there is about Women Transitioning to Men and then competing in Sport? Even with their superior agility etc…? I don’t either ‘cuz I couldn’t find anything at all except one guy (now a guy) who had to decide if he would compete (long distance runner) on the mens or woman’s team, and his school was very supportive. That’s it. All I could find.

Then, controversy about men transitioning to woman and competing in woman’s sports? Piles & piles. Odd but true, even with their potential lack of agility (but generally denser bones and different physiology), and who are the most vocal about this?

That’s Right!! It’s all Old White Guys! I mean it’s all other Female Athletes that where born as females as a gender (not sex). If there’s any outrage, it should be against female athletes who as a gender where born as females. They’re obviously not WOKE enough to accept whatever the Hell’s happening currently and think it’s unfair. Bunch of Whiners is all, and now this morning I know more about it (but still almost nothing) than I did yesterday morning.

I wouldn’t go as far as “desperately concerned” but it was interesting, & I’m a little wiser I think.

If Bruce Jenner wants to be Kaitlin Jenner to be happy? All the power to her!! If Kaitlin Jenner (who I’m assuming knows more about being Trans than I do) thinks it would be unfair for herself to complete in sport against other woman (she used celebrity golf as an example), should we all boycott her (I honestly don’t know what she does in her retirement in order to boycott it) ‘cuz she’s not WOKE enough?

For me this wasn’t about sport, but debate, & I can debate the other side of this controversy leaving my own personal opinion out of it, and still enjoy the debate.

Well, actually I AM boycotting Kaitlin Jenner. Haven't had any commercial transaction with her that I know of.

Yeah, problem there is I don’t pay for sex.. don’t know where you got that Idea… maybe gerryh or T-Bones..

Your copious amounts of posts that hint you do suggested the idea.

Unless your continual parade of different people and being happy that you have someone 'pretty' to fuck is just you saying you're a player? Either way I really don't care except it shows you don't give a sweet fuck about women anyway which fits your misogyny, so...

Leave children be children.. they don’t even understand sex until they are 16 or older..

There you go again, confusing sex and gender...

They understand gender by the time they can recognize that they are not like X person (or Y person), so... three or four for some kids. And at the same age, some kids know that the gender they are is NOT right, because they want to be more like X, or Y, person.

Here is an example of grooming kids at 5 years old..

There's an example of FEAR from the fucking idiots who believe being gay or Trans is just a "recent" thing.

Give it a rest; you honestly don't GAF at all about this, this is just something for you to rage over and feel important. There's nothing wrong with that book at all because no one is forcing people to read it to their kids and all it does is provide kids education about what those words mean, considering how common place its becoming in society. But JFC, let's not EDUCATE kids now, right? No wonder you like Texas.

BTW, no reaction on Lia NOT winning the Freestyle? HA! I said you'd ignore it. Guess that's cause it proves that there was more to her previous win than just previously 'being a guy'. Like work, training, focus and sometimes, blind fucking luck.

Take your anti-Trans hysterics and clutching pearls back to your glass house.

Who’s a pedo? Did I miss a post somewhere? Is this about the ‘blockers’ brought up earlier?

Eh, some people think all trans people are pedophiles, same as it was with gays, bi's, etc...

When it's all they have for a reason to hate, it's pretty sad when it's more 'straight people' than gay/Trans that prey on kids yet they ignore that to claim it's TEH GEH or TEH TRANNIES!

You won't find much uproar in the area of trans men really, because IMO (my opinion, mind you) in the end this obsession about Trans people is more over the unbelievable idea of someone who has a dick wanting to 'cut it off' or someone who was a 'male' wanting to be 'lesser' by wanting to be 'female'. The trans issue has a lot more to do with the believed ideas of what makes someone male and how not being that or wanting to be that freaks them out.

Of course a trans man wants to be a man, who doesn't? And then there's the passability; it's so much easier for a trans man to pass even without hormones, than it is for a trans woman to pass sometimes. Hell, when I was sixteen this old (admittedly) drunk guy thought I was a guy, because my cadet uniform did a great job at the time of making me look more male than female (not that I minded that at all). Point is, passing is a huge factor.

Then, controversy about men transitioning to woman and competing in woman’s sports? Piles & piles. Odd but true,

Not odd; see above. It has to do with fake male outrage over the fact a 'man' now wants to be thought of as a woman and thus, in sports, wants to compete against women. I think it's part of the 'man must protect women from other man!" mentality.

The outrage shouldn't be against girls/women, trans or not. Trans women should be allowed to compete, as women, in whatever sport they choose.

That said, until those like dickhead - I mean Boomer - realize that allowing kids to start, at least hormonally, transitioning earlier with the proper hormones will help lead to the proper body 'types', their idea of "let kids be kids and decide as adults" brings this issue with it, and other issues as well.

You CAN'T scream "THINK OF THE CHILDREN", then when you think of the children, say "STOP THINKING OF THE CHILDREN", and you can't undo what puberty does to a body once it's happened despite that person not WANTING those things to happen at all (but are forced to go through it because you didn't think of the children).

Sure, some things you can't change at all but there is a lot you can do to mitigate the differences in the physical representation of gender if it's handled properly.

For myself when it comes to sports, much as I wish Trans women would just be left alone when they want to compete against other women, those who have NOT been able to go through puberty properly (what others may say is 'normal'), they will be at some advantage against women and maybe that should be a consideration in whatever sport they're in. How it's dealt with though I don't know, not sure how that would work.

But then again, you'll have people who don't really care latching onto it just to scream their bigotry and fear so in the end, does it matter?

OK. Wiser again this morning than I was yesterday morning.

Seriously though, who gives a fuck? Unless someone is hitting on you, & you don’t have the Couth to say “I’m flattered but I don’t fly that way Buddy (or Miss Buddy?)” and they don’t have the Couth to say “Yeah, OK, Cool, how about those Bluejays & some weather we’ve been having eh?” & then it’s done, and you exchange some dirty jokes, each buy a round, etc…done.

I was wondering where the Pedo thing was coming from and thought it might have been about allowing children to take the “blockers” mentioned earlier pre-puberty when legally the same kids aren’t allowed to vote or drink or join the military or go to adult prison etc…because they’re not considered mature enough to make informed decisions on these other things.

I wouldn’t go as far as “desperately concerned” but it was interesting, & I’m a little wiser I think.

In the end, the trans debate in sports does (or can, depending on your mindset I suppose) lead to a wider discussion about gender and the 'place' of men and women in society as a whole. IMO.

If Bruce Jenner wants to be Kaitlin Jenner to be happy? All the power to her!! If Kaitlin Jenner (who I’m assuming knows more about being Trans than I do)

HAHA - um, Kaitlyn is reviled by most of the Trans community cause she's a fucking cunt, but as for knowing more about being Trans... debatable. ;)

thinks it would be unfair for herself to complete in sport against other woman (she used celebrity golf as an example), should we all boycott her (I honestly don’t know what she does in her retirement in order to boycott it) ‘cuz she’s not WOKE enough?

She's old school bought into the "older" ideas about Trans women, doesn't usually support Trans causes and her analogy about celebrity golf is BS. Being male in Golf helps you absolutely NOT and I know this as a fact as a player. Fact is, golf is likely the one sport that men and women are the most equal in, and it's more skill with the ball that gets you the wins. Hitting the ball 'harder' will not help you; distance will help only a little and won't do shit if you don't hit your ball well.

For me this wasn’t about sport, but debate, & I can debate the other side of this controversy leaving my own personal opinion out of it, and still enjoy the debate.

As I said in the post before this, I can actually agree with the concerns about trans women; the problem is how to be fair to them and non trans women.

But then you get ignorant slobbers like Boom who want to pretend Trans don't exist, or erase them off the map, all because their idea of masculinity is threatened... it pisses me off because I know trans people, and the number of kids who die BECAUSE of people like Boom infuriates me to no end.

Naaah!! During the Roman times and throughout history they had gays.. during the Roman times they also fed people to lions..

I was hoping society advanced far enough to now protect our young, let them grow up before we start sexualizing them.. and not feed people to lions.

You honestly sound like a NAMBLA member wanting to sexualize children.. are you??

Sadly, those whose balls aren't even in the game (so to speak).

If only it was that easy...

I was wondering where the Pedo thing was coming from

Stupid ignorance mostly and outright lies and hate.

and thought it might have been about allowing children to take the “blockers” mentioned earlier

Blockers are actually used in other approved instances of kids who have issues with early puberty. They're just not technically 'trialed' for hormone therapy in the case of Trans issues, so legally it's not a 'proven method' medically, even if it is. It's one of those fucked up 'coverage' areas where sure a med can work for X thing, and Y thing, but in the trials it wasn't originally used for Y thing so we can't say yes it's for Y thing for reals.

pre-puberty when legally the same kids aren’t allowed to vote or drink or join the military or go to adult prison etc…because they’re not considered mature enough to make informed decisions on these other things.

Which is why for blockers, in the US I think it varies, but in Canada IIRC you need TWO medical doctors and one or two Psych doctors for evaluation and approval before you're even allowed to take them. AND you need to be constantly monitored during the time you take them with follow ups done routinely I think every four to six months? It's not like doctors are going "Here ya go!" and that's it.

Yeah, we also lived in caves; so?

YOU are sexualizing them and really, it's getting fucking gross. You and your 'kind' need to seriously stop.

You honestly sound like a NAMBLA member wanting to sexualize children.. are you??

Sometimes Boom, you actually make sense.

And then you post this shit; somehow you think it makes you edgy or something.

Again, YOU are the ones sexualizing kids and you need to stop it.

Go fuck yourself you insecure little boy, or get one of those cheapo whores you hire to do it.

Here we’re in agreement, & I’ve no idea what the answer is either. In certain sports a Trans person’s original gender might be irrelevant, and in others it might be hugely relevant…& I don’t care enough to be more concerned than that, but from the outside looking in, I’d assume that the governing body (bodies?) for each sport individually would have to sort out their stance on the relevance of a trans athlete’s original gender in the nature of fairness in competition. (Drops the mic, etc…?)

I watched a few YouTube vids of females (born as females) and they believe they have a real grievance in sport on this topic, & on the flip side the trans athlete just wants to do their thing. Who’s right (or are they both right? Or both wrong?)? Or does that change from sport to sport?

Depending on the sport, it's usually a trans woman has to have a certain reading of Estrogen v. Testosterone before they can compete. Sometimes it's just a very low percentage of T in the system that's only needed. Then you get the 'well sure they've low T but cause they had male puberty, the lack of T and increased E is going to change only so much', which is why some push for blockers and/or hormone treatments with E or T before or at puberty.

I watched a few YouTube vids of females (born as females) and they believe they have a real grievance in sport on this topic, & on the flip side the trans athlete just wants to do their thing. Who’s right (or are they both right? Or both wrong?)? Or does that change from sport to sport?

For me, both sides are right, and wrong. Right in just wanting to compete, wrong in trying to isolate women from the sport because of no fault of their own they have physical attributes that might help them edge the field.

But that said, those attributes don't always help; again, the subject of this latest outburst lost the 100m Freestyle.

I think it does change from sport to sport, too.

I watched a video the other day with Trans men vs. Conservative men discussing what masculinity is and what it means to 'be a man'. It was interesting and infuriating if only for some of the misogyny some of the Con men showed. The surprising bit was a couple of questions, there was agreement from one or two Trans men with the Con men.

So even in the Trans community there's different layers of opinion about the subject of feminine and masculine.

If only it was that easy...
From my limited perspective, it was that easy. Admittedly I’m not up on the terminology so forgive me on the lack of current lingo, but I’ve been on both sides of the equation.

I’ve been hit on by a guy & it played out pretty much exactly as I described above, and I’ve hit on a girl who clarified that she & I where batting for the same team, and then we shot the shit about Briggs & Stratton 2 stroke engines (and the waitress’s bottom) among other things for the next couple of hours. No big thing.

Nobody was Trans in the above scenarios so maybe not relevant, but also nobody got hurt and we where all adults respecting each other as people, so maybe that’s the relevance, and alcohol was involved in both situations, but it was also involved in how my girlfriend & I met a decade ago so…. Maybe part of the answer is to just treat people the way you’d want to be treated?

The big question is, did it lose, or throw the race to create controversy? And is this the equivalent to doping?
