Life begins at Conception. A child in conceived in its full human potential and in the Image of God. Pregnancy implicitly imposes responsibility of care for the fetus on the mother. Abortion is murder.

A society that legalizes and supports abortion is a society that has declared war on its own future. It has also placed hopeless contradictions on the moral foundation in its legal structure and its notion of family. The discussion of the viability of the fetus is irrelevant and absurd. The only issue is does a society have the right and responsibility to protect the most vulnerable of human life in its jurisdiction.

The abortion of a first pregnancy is so hormonally disruptive that it has catastrophic health implications for the woman; including vastly increased liklihood of breast and other cancers. There is inevitably deep psychological trauma, often unacknowledged, by the woman. Abortion is not a 'medical' procedure. That term that becomes a cruel mockery for something that results in the murder of one individual and the severely compromised health of another.

exactly. The last group that should be making laws about this are MEN or religious fanatics. Unless of course they are the father and /or prepared to fund & raise the potential infant into adulthood.If an embryo has the potential for being significantly handicapped mentally etc........(like the infants that ...where their moms got infected by the Z virus......an abortion is the most humane option. Pregnancy resulting from horrific rape attacks.......must have the option for abortion. It is the woman's CHOICE.......... of course she can keep it or put it out for adoption........ but it is HER choice...... a choice not dictated by some ancient beliefs. And without JUDGEMENT from others...as it is none of their business.

I think you are the dinosaur, I've never been particularly high handed about my opinions and only make an issue of them when someone else starts dictating to me what I can think about a subject. I would never think of telling a woman what they can or can't do with their bodies but I can sure as hell voice my opinion when it comes to deliberately destroying a life form at the point in their life when they are most vulnerable. I don't want to hear any more shit about the kid all of a sudden coming alive at the time it leaves the vagina. You believe whatever shit you want to believe but don't start ramming it down my throat.

You do understand that the English common law, from which both American and Canadian law are derived, has held for centuries that such rights as a foetus may have only attach at "quickening," i.e., the point at which the foetus can be felt to move in the womb, usually about four months, right?

... and wisely so as a high percentage of pregnancies spontaneously abort. If we applied JLM's version of Sharia, we'd be charging every woman who'd had a miscarriage with Manslaughter. That should empty the streets.
