Well, at the 1/3 point, my RBs are responsible for the East not being complete, pathetic losers. Their record is equal to or better than two West teams.

I know, it ain't much, but when you're an East fan, you take what you can get.

I was working during the game, Tec but had the TV on and was able to catch parts of it. Glad to see the RBs with another W even though I am more of a Cats fan. The East needs every win it can get in order to start putting more of its fans in the seats.

Ward, the kicker who won the game pretty much by himself (the holder helped), is a rookie. Last year he was a security guard at TD Stadium. As a Ravens fan, with a history of legendary kickers (Matt Stover and Justin Tucker), I'm delighted, though full-well aware of the perils of hanging your game on the kicker.

Still, great for the kid. Another football fantasy come true.

You are absolutely right about the critical need to get butts in seats in the East. With the RBs and the Argos delivering Grey Cups in the last few years, what the heck are they waiting for?

Great story about Ward, Tec. I had no idea. Another Canadian in the league.

The Argos problems are the stadium they play in and all the competition they face from other sports. They had their heyday when John Candy was a part owner in the team. John knew how to draw crowds and he packed the stadium game after game.

Ottawa is full of politicians and bureaucrats and they don't seem to be too interested in anything but furthering their careers. LOL.

In both cases the lack of aggressive marketing campaigns to attract more fans is another factor in the teams failure to fill the seats.

What's wrong with BMO Field?

At least there fans aren't diluted like a fart in a wind storm at Rogers.

Lions have the same problem in BC Place. Move the team to Kelowna already so they can have a fan base that will show up without having to gave tickets away.

REGINA — The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released running back Jerome Messam following a criminal charge dating back to November of 2016.

The league also announced, in a statement issued Monday, that it will not file a future contract for Messam should any team attempt to sign him:

“The Canadian Football League is aware that Jerome Messam has been charged with Voyeurism, a Criminal Code offence. He has been released by the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Commissioner Randy Ambrosie has informed all member clubs that the league will not register a contract for Messam should any team attempt to sign him. We will have no further comment on this matter as it is before the courts.”

12:17 into the 1rst Q and the RBs in their opening series strike first with a 2-point converted (on the ground yet) TD. Excellent, well-balanced, called and executed march down the field. The Argos D looks pretty shaky.

McLeod Bethel-Thompson is getting his first start in the CFL as the new pivot for the Argos.

5:26 in the 1rst and the Argo D came alive in this last series penning the RBs in their own red zone, forcing a 2 and out and a kick from the end zone. The Argo's Marquis Jackson takes the return punt all the way back to the RBs 5-yard line - a 46-yard return.

Argos answer back with a TD and go for the 1-point convert to trail by a single point behind the RBs with just over 2 minutes left in the Q.

Ottawa back on the board again but only with the 6-point TD as they missed on the 2-point try.
14 - 7 RBs at 13:38 in the 2nd Q.

Whoa, the RBs just got themselves another TD on a missed punt reception by Jackson that went into the end zone and was recovered by Ottawa. Convert is good and the RBs lead 21 - 7 still in the 2nd.

Once again the RBs get penned in their own red zone and are forced to punt from the end zone however the return is but five yards though the Argos will start at Ottawa's 50 - not bad field position.

Argos can't convert on 3 and 2. The RBs have the ball around their 45 yard line.

With under a minute to go in the half and the RBs are forced to punt after falling to 2 and 0.

:39 seconds left and the Argos cough up the ball to leave the RBs in scoring position. 4 TOs by Argonauts - so far.

:31 TD RBs.............that was way too easy.

The single-point conversion gives the RBs a 28 - 7 lead going into the half.
But wait...................Jackson with another great punt return
:20 Noel gets the TD and more but ate up the clock
:11 instead of going for the FG, they hand the ball off and the clock runs out on the Argos in this half. They need some serious discussions in the locker rooms about ball protection.

Whether it's nerves or lack of confidence Bethel-Thompson needs to hone his skills a touch more.

Really good solid drive by the Argos in their opening series and they are rewarded with a wide open SJ Green in the end zone for their second TD of the game. The single point convert narrows the gap to 14 points with almost 2 full Qs of play.

It's sad to see such small crowds.

I could not agree more pete and it makes me wonder how long some of these teams are going to be able to hang on with such paltry attendances.

Amazing how Harris can manufacture something out of nothing at times - for sure I thought he have to toss the ball away. Thinking on your feet that is, good on him. Sure hope Spencer is okay. Between his 100+ yards and Brad's frequent contributions Ottawa is blessed with two very reliable receivers - a real comfort to a QB.

Rick Campbell is challenging that his receiver was interfered with in the end zone resulting in a 3D situation........and loses. Lewis Ward will attempt a 17-yard FG...........and puts it right through the middle of the uprights.......and Rick loses a time-out.

31 - 14 at the 5 minute mark of the 3rd.

87 yard punt return for Diontae Spencer and yet another Ottawa TD.............guess the kids ankle is working just fine. He's gotta be closing in on 200 receiving yards in the first 3 Qs.

38 -14 for the Redblacks

Argos manage another TD miss on the 2-point convert and TO comes away with 6 points on another decent drive by the offense to leave them down by 18 with a minute fifty-two left in the 3rd.

The Portholes have great recievers but they need Ray.

They need more than Ray, pete.....their defense is nothing to write home about. They have their flashes but lack consistency and allow far too many yards both on the run and the pass.

And that was one of their better flashes............nice grab by the Argo defender.

Argos will be scrimmaging from the RBs 20-yard line thanks to the extra efforts of Bethel-Green who had a great run for the D and more.

James Wilder came up with a face full of turf after being stripped of the ball in the end zone ........quite the gouge left in the turf.

SJ comes up short of the D...Argos 3 and 2 and they are going for it..........Bethel-Green goes for the long ball to SJ and the Argos put another 6 on the board. I think that BG is settling in quite nicely now. The convert attempt goes awry but the Argos have managed to narrow the score to 38 - 26 with almost a full Q of football to play.

Apparently BG had never thrown a TD pass prior to the two he's thrown here. Big night for him.

Not that was funny...........Spencer was end zone bound before he tripped over the feet of his own team-mate around the 15. RBs pushed back 2 yards on the next play then come up short of the 1rst D and will bring Ward in for a 14-yard FG and he's 2 for 2 on the night and 19 out 19 in consecutive FG completions.

41 - 26 RBs

Great legs on BG he just saved the Argos bacon on 3 and 4 when he runs for another 20+ yards.........then gets sacked on the next play.

Only an hour and fifteen and we can watch Zach get pulled by the half.

I usually save my libations until after the first half........tonight - I'm starting early.
