The cover of the new edition of weekly magazine The Spectator:

And in it, liberal metropolitan eliter Matthew Parris demonstrates just why politicians with his views are getting kicked out of office worldwide: Can we trust the people? After Trump, I'm no longer sure | Coffee House

The sneering response to Trump’s victory reveals exactly why he won: The sneering response to Trump’s victory reveals exactly why he won | Coffee House

What i have taken from this rebirth of politics, is mostly a warm feeling, as "journalists" who attempted every minute of every single fugging day to tell us that only they, as liberals, know how to run a democratic society. Now they attempt to explain why they cannot be wrong.
A warm feeling indeed.

I can't wait for selfsame to get here and tell us how the Quran predicted a Trump win.

An interesting night with many crazy media daze ahead!

And this is a picture of eels in a bathtub. It has nothing to do with last night's erection, but it's probably time to move on.

yeah...a pretty large group of people voted for Mr. Trump as did the Brexit folk.

everything will be just fine.

the most obvious fallout will be a resentful petty media nipping at Donald's heels for some time to come.

they hate being wrong. and they were pretty goddamned wrong in their futile attempt to install crooked hillary.

I remember when someone on this forum (you may know him) was very excited about Nate Silver projecting a Trump win. It was a twittering euphoria for that person.

I will be more interested to hear about the pollsters reactions. They were way off the mark. I expect that they will be situationally inventive, in order to keep their jobs.

When push came to shove, the American people saw through the real lies, hypocrisy and deception that has been dragging their country down for too long. I hope they will do everything they can to help the new administration start putting things back on the right track.

It is odd how the Trump haters refuse even now to concede that he has some promise for the country. They continue to call his supporters stupid. Do they think that detracts from their own 'stupidity'?. I wonder.

Every Poll I saw basically said the DEMs would have the Congress and Senate. That didn't happen either. Trump could have easier support of both if they decide to go along with his ideas......

No difference whether Clinton or Trump; either of them will work according to a program planned beforehand.

Trump has not the decision to do whatever he likes; they have called him to the White House, and will tell him what he should do.
He is not like Hitler, Saddam or Stalin: these have their words as law, and they decided what they wanted.

Trump or Obama or the rest of the latest presidents have no absolute authority to decide whatever they want.

I discussed this with many of the public: they agree that what afflicts the world is according to some 4 year plans i.e. the American presidency periods:

Reagan ruled for two 4-years periods: the Iraq-Iran war (lasted for 7 years + 7 months.)
Busch the father: the gulf war and invasion of Iraq.
Busch the junior: the invasion of Iraq.
Obama: the sedition in Syria and Iraq.
Trump: what future crimes ... God only knows.

Got to get through all the gloom and doom weeks. Big business would never use an election as an excuse to reorganize their affairs!

I.
I changed my response above to reflect that he would an easier ride to get things through a Republic group than a Dem.....

I hope he does well. Change it up and see what happens.
I agree that he might surprise many, the people have voted and he now needs to be allowed to run his office. For myself, being in Canada, I don't care except for the entertainment itself, but I know from what I've seen and heard, I will be against most of his policies.
