Donald Trump's poll numbers are so bad his supporters are making up new ones - Vox

In the face of all this bad news, some Trump supporters have taken it upon themselves to, essentially, make up poll numbers that look favorable for Trump. This is Long Room, the website dedicated to changing poll numbers so they’re “unbiased”:

These poll numbers are total bull****. The website’s methodology page claims that the tracker incorporates state data to accurately reflect the demographics of voters. But it seems that, in reality, if a pollster consistently gets results that favor Clinton, it’s deemed more “biased” — and Long Room changes the number further in Trump’s direction.

Of course, this misses the possibility that the great majority of polls aren’t biased at all and Clinton really is far ahead of Trump in the election.

Still, Trump supporters — especially at r/The_Donald on Reddit — are promoting this site to give themselves a bit of hope.

But I thought the Cold War was supposed to have been about ideology.

Was the Cold War against communism, or against Russia? Russia was our ally in World War II, and we’d have a Nazi world today if 26 million Russians hadn’t died from Hitler’s bombs and attacks while Russia fought on with courage amidst desperation, finally to crush his regime.
But Russia was communist, so the Cold War developed after that alliance (the Allies in WW II) ended. Then, Russia abandoned communism in 1990, and ended its own Warsaw Pact military alliance in 1991, while America’s military alliance NATO expanded right up to Russia’s borders — and yet the West claims that Russia and not NATO are the ‘aggressor’ here? Sorry: I don’t get it. I really do not. Not at all.
The Cold War should have ended in 1991 when communism and the Warsaw Pact did, but instead it continued on in the form of NATO (very profitable for what Dwight Eisenhower called “the military-industrial complex” — and its U.S. military is also the employer, direct or indirect, of much of our workforce, especially when arms-manufacturers are counted in). And now Donald Trump is being called by haters-of-Trump (who are almost exclusively lovers-of-Hillary) a U.S. national-security risk because he wants to end the Cold War on the U.S. side — 25 years after it had ended in 1991 on the communist side. Oh, it’s still too soon to do that? Really?

Hillary County;
Voting irregularities in Detroit have spurred plans for an audit by Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson's office, Elections Director Chris Thomas said Monday.

State officials are planning to examine about 20 Detroit precincts where ballot boxes opened during the recount had fewer ballots than poll workers had recorded on Election Day.

"We're assuming there were (human) errors, and we will have discussions with Detroit election officials and staff in addition to reviewing the ballots," Thomas said.

The Detroit precincts are among those that couldn't be counted during a statewide presidential recount that began last week and ended Friday following a decision by the Michigan Supreme Court.

The recount problems were the worst in Detroit, where discrepancies meant officials couldn't recount votes in 392 of the city's 662 precincts, or nearly 60 percent. State law that bars recounts for unbalanced precincts or ones with broken seals.
Democrat Hillary Clinton overwhelmingly prevailed in Detroit and Wayne County.

In one precinct the ballot box contained only 50 ballots. The poll book showed 306 were counted.

Wisconsin's historic presidential recount ended Monday resulting in a net gain of 131 votes for President-elect Donald Trump over Democrat Hillary Clinton, the Wisconsin Elections Commission said.

something something russia. Lol!

Records: Too many votes in 37% of Detroit’s precincts

Voting machines in more than one-third of all Detroit precincts registered more votes than they should have during last month’s presidential election, according to Wayne County records prepared at the request of The Detroit News.

Detailed reports from the office of Wayne County Clerk Cathy Garrett show optical scanners at 248 of the city’s 662 precincts, or 37 percent, tabulated more ballots than the number of voters tallied by workers in the poll books. Voting irregularities in Detroit have spurred plans for an audit by Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson’s office, Elections Director Chris Thomas said Monday.

Too bad DIRT couldn't participate in this.

B00mer still hasn't returned.

Why?

Expecting a fight comrade?

I was against the Iraq war and I'm not a particular fan of free trade as it is.

Do we have you on record opposing these two things?

I do distrust the Russians....bigley.

I am also opposed to handing out gifts to companies to stay in the US.

For the most part(unless it's an emergemcy) the market should decide who wins.

Trump may be a good president economically but I hate the language that gave him this office...and you know what that is.

For me, I am willing to give the dude a chance.

My eyes aren't closed though.....seems some are.

This left right thing has to stop.

Well I am just remembering back to the early Obama years when your butt wasn't banned. It was fun rubbing your nose in the DIRT after the midterms. It was classic.

I don't remember that...sorry....I don't think Obama was a real bad president.

To many people forget what happened in late 2008 and early 2009.

Trump will inherit a good economy.

Also despite what some have deemed negative certain aspects of the affordable health care act will remain.

You're right, the ACA will not remain but parts of it will.

Let's see the Cons remove the preexisting conditions part....btw...no matter what health care costs will not go down.

They've already said they want to keep that part.

Health Care costs have skyrocketed when the ACA was supposed to lower them. In 8 years they did not dare to even enact the whole ACA. It was a disaster from the start... and the Democrats paid dearly.

Health care costs will always go up.

That part.....is thanks to the ACA btw and will remain.

That's good for the American people.

Now, under the system....which we have no real details other than state to state competition...will costs go lower? Will the poor be able to afford insurance? and will costs not go up exponentially?

We shall see.

The poor have ALWAYS been covered.

The funny part was that some folks who thought they were "poor" thought they would get subsidies. Now they just get billed with budget crippling premiums and deductibles on the exchanges. That is how the Dems suckered them in... you'll get it for free or cheap. If you have a job... you're paying... a lot.
