Riders sell 55% of ALL CFL merchandise. Why can I buy a Rider toque anywhere in Canada from coast to coast to coast?
Wish I could buy Rider Pride ice cream here in BC, sounds scrumptious.

On the left you'll notice the enter to win flap for a Rider Pride riding mower.
Darn, I forgot to tune into today, talloola.............sounds like it was a good interview. Thanks for the update. You are right about our teams. It will be interesting to see if they both rise to the occasion. I am very laid back about the team this year - glad when they win and not really that disappointed when they lose. I see that they are still making changes and tweaking plays and sticking with the ones that are working. My wish is that the game is not decided by some questionable call by the refs.
Good luck to both our teams, talloola.
yes, good luck to both of them, but in all fairness you must let the lions have this one, then we will
both have 'one', or do the riders have two, can't remember.
our team is poorer than your team. lol

We only have one win and that was against Montreal. If your Lions win - good on them but much as I would like to do you a favor when it comes to the Riders my Pride comes before my manners.
You should have your marketing guys get together with the Rider marketing guys. They could do lunch and toss ideas around.
I still think back to my visit to the Rider store last summer. Thought I had died and gone to heaven. Honestly, talloola - had I the funds, I could have walked out of that store dressed in nothing but Rider gear from the skin out. My sister in Regina sends me Rider stuff for Christmas and I treasure every item.

they are definitely the most successful 'football store' in the CFL.
I don't have anything 'of' the lions, guess I better get started, I have a few canuck things, car flags, hats,
and shirts, I need to get a nice canuck jersey. My husband wanted to buy me one last year when we went to
a game early in the hockey season, but I wouldn't let him, thought I would never wear it, (they are
very expensive), only at games,
and we don't go very often, kind of wish I hadn't refused now.
I haven't been to a lions game since 'about' l955, I was with my dad, and I got very embarrassed because he
began argueing with an opposition fan behind us, it was my very first look at
pro football, I loved it, wanted to learn all about it. I was 16 or 17.

I often wear my Rider shirts or ball cap when I go to town in the summer. I find that people will come up and start talking about the team and how they are doing. I live alone, talloola but get duded up with my Rider gear to watch every game - it gets me in the spirit and I can pretend I'm in the stands cheering them on.
I went to my first Rider game when I was around 11 or 12 with my Dad and rarely missed a game after that. I loved every single moment of being in the stands cheering for the team and learning about the game. When I moved away from Sask, I would go to Rider games in the cities that I was living in every chance I got.
Suter said he stuck to his comments of last week and asked the question "why isn't coaching on the table"? He was being politically correct because he doesn't want to trash Wally, but he and others pointed out the issue of three straight poor seasons and the existing one without a win, and yet coaching isn't accountable to anyone. They specifically discussed that no one above Wally was a real football guy. Unlike the days when he could talk to Ackles, guys like Braley and Skulsky are simply business guys. Those poor seasons are the post-Ackles era..no coincidence. Too much football responsibility is carried on Wally's back.
Angus Reid barely has a job with BC. He was cut for a while last year. He won't be saying anything but positive if he wants to stay employed.
Wally should've made changes in the last off season. Probably too late to do anything now but yet another season gets flushed.
Personally, as a big Lions fan, Wally Buono ought to fire himself as coach and let someone else take over. I heard Suter also talk about questioning Buono. Buono is a legend with the most games won, but suddenly he has lost it. These things happen and it's time to make a coaching change.
coaching change, if made, should be in the off season.
Wally hasn't lost anything. He can't run up and down the field correcting the
silly things the players are doing, dropping balls, missing tackles etc.
Players have to improve, stop making mistakes, and win a game.
A player doesn't drop a ball because the coach isn't any good.
I agree mid-season is not the right time for a coaching change, but there is something off right now with the Lions. Feels a bit like not taking out Luongo when he can't stop a beachball. Coaching pride gets in the way.
Can't admit an error.
Opinions on Fred Stamps??
Not so sure about Ricky Ray this season....
all of the errors have happened right in front of us on the 'tube', by players.
my whole point is this: the team needs to keep trying to win, and taking the coach out of the
equation 'right now' won't do that, there is more of a chance that they win a game 'staying' as is with coaching,
and make changes in player personnel, as they did yesterday, too bad new player can't play on friday.
If this was hockey, I could look at it differently, 'maybe', one still doesn't jump all over the coach, when it is obvious that the 'type' of mistakes being made aren't coaching type, but players clumsiness.
It is far too easy to 'crap' all over the coach, by fans and other onlookers, but I can't understand why same people aren't even mentioning the player responsibilities.
Everything the player does isn't happening because of the coach.
I am not an experienced football follower, but what I have noticed with many players in football, is an
arrogance that isn't very flattering, would much rather see the more humble approach, same as we see from
hockey players, who in my opinion are a much more 'mentally tough' athlete.
Instead of flapping the yap, whenever the camera is on you, shut your mouth and pay attention to whats
going on.

There are a lot of questions behind simply " what is causing the errors". Are the schemes too complex or changing too often for the players to get it right? Is it mental lapses? Are they simply errors in execution? Is the talent there to make the plays? Mistakes almost always appear to be made by players but sometimes the same errors are a coaching error, in terms of calling the right type of coverage, having the right players involved (match ups) etc.
I am all for athletes "shutting their holes and knowing their roles" but I think some of the issue with football players and their touchiness is the short season and thus small window for making things happen. If you get benched for a game in football thats like being out for 5 games in hockey. They also have to be fierce competitors, like any athlete aspiring to get to the top of their sport. Couple all this with the knowledge that injuries are pretty much a "when" not an "if" because of the nature of the sport, and I can see how guys do get upset. Everyone knows they have a limited time to make an impact and they want the opportunity to do so... and if those around you appear to be costing you that opportunity and possibly your chance to earn your livelihood, you're going to have (at best) limited tolerance for those mistakes. Some of the yapping is also just keeping themselves keyed up and in the game too.
As for the Lions, I'm not sure bringing Arland Bruce into the mix is a good move but we'll see.
