Oh my god this is crazy, two whole days of bickering about dog control officers. Harper & the Conservative Syndicate have called this election to help McCain and Pollen distract the American electorate.

I didn't see it, but don't approve of it.

That is why I like you Risus, you are a good man………………….
This type of politics hurt the attacker first before the person being attacked………….I am sure you remember Kim Campbell, and what happened to her and the Conservatives for calling Jean Chrétien and ugly man……………..She and the Conservatives were eating humble pie for 13 years……………

Give your head a shake! Mulroney left Kim Campbell holding the bag for his garbage. Chretien never proved her wrong did he?

You really should write a book.... The Soc's slant on History

Give your head a shake! Kim Campbell was Molroney's bag person ... as in he left her holding the bag for his garbage. Chretien never proved her wrong did he?

LW, no pun intended but if you recall, when she hit the streets campaign against Jean Chrétien the advertising ads were as follow. Chrétien was seen on the Conservative ads the Conservatives asking the Canadian public if they would vote for a man who was so un-photogenic because of his hanging lip. I don’t need to give my self a shake good old pall, may memory is working perfectly going back to the 1993 election which decimated the Cons.:p

"We investigated the effects of negative political advertising on evaluations of political party leaders. During the 1993 Canadian federal election, the Progressive Conservative party aired two advertisements highlighting the facial paralysis of Liberal leader Jean Chretien. A sample of 110 university students completed measures of attitudes, affective responses, and cognitive responses concerning Conservative leader Kim Campbell and Jean Chretien either before or after the airing of the advertisements. The results revealed that evaluations of Chretien became more positive after the broadcast of the advertisements, whereas evaluations of Campbell became more negative. A content analysis of participants' open-ended affective responses and stereotypic beliefs showed that those who participated after the advertisements' broadcast were (a) more likely to list positive feelings and attributes about Chretien and (b) more likely to list negative feelings about Campbell compared to those who participated beforehand"

There.................. pal is that remind you of anything??????????????

Harper will pay for the bird sh!t on Dion.......................

The memory's fine. It's the ride down memory lane where your wheels keep falling off. I don't go for personal jabs either ... but don't attribute Mulroney's shyte-kicking to Kimmie's schoolyard antics.

The Cons were send to exile after that for 13 years, they became very insignificant.
In the Canadian political landscape. Any one remembers that?????

That would be the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada, a party that no longer exists, thankfully.

I did my bit to add to their demise, as I was a member and contributor to the Reform Party shortly after its inception, and then the Canadian Alliance.

The old PC party is no more, Socrates.....

Did you LISTEN to what was said? Kim shot herself in the foot - but it had little to do with the beating. The biggest liabilities were Mulroney's legacy and a vote shared with Reform.

LW, do you think that the negative ads against Jean Chrétien did not ad to the weight of negativity against Kim Campbell’s Conservatives bid for the top job? Of course it had a negative affect.

When we look at the fact that Kim Campbell was a woman and she should have been the first North American woman Prime Minister of a Developed and civilized Country with a 4 year Minority or Majority and she didn’t, that speaks further than the Mulroney and the Reform connection……………What that proved LW, is that the voter realized that the face was deferent but the politics were the same……………DEEP MEAN SPIRITED CONS……ONE FACE OUTSIDE AND A COMPLETELY DEFERENT FACE INSIDE …. That was THE REAL REASON THEY WERE REDUCED TO RUBLE.
The Bird sh!t on Dion’s back is nothing but a black eye on the Con camp, a black eye that will make them pay October the 14th 2008…at the ballot box….. Good pal…………

Think what you will, Sock. The voter realized, through two cleverly manipulated split votes - that won Mulroney his unpopular Free Trade and GST - that a crook is a crook is a crook. Kim Campbell could have floated in in company with angels and still lost. Mulroney left her holding the bag - lousy picture of Chretien or not. If you were running, would you post a pretty picture of the opposition? I doubt it. It's all salesmanship. What did you sell?

The bird **** thing was juvenile, and it will become a non-issue.

Kim Campbell was a scapegoat - all of the party insiders knew what was coming, and they avoided the leadership race. She didn't really catch on that she was just a scapegoat, although none of the party expected quite such a severe drubbing.

The anti-Chretien ads made a miniscule difference to the overall result.

In other election news:
A hand-picked Conservative candidate with a criminal record is dropping out of the race in the riding of Halifax.
Rosamond Luke, executive director of the All Women's Empowerment and Development Association, was appointed to carry the party's banner in the Nova Scotia riding on Sunday.
Halifax is the only riding in the province without an incumbent. Alexa McDonough, who has held the seat for the NDP since 1997, is not running for re-election.
Luke announced Tuesday she was bowing out to focus on her job.
CBC News has learned that Luke was convicted of uttering threats in July 2006 and sentenced to 18 months probation. In June 2007, she was convicted of breaching an undertaking and fined $50. She also got an additional nine months probation.
Though criminal records are available to the public, sources told CBC News that local Conservative party officials were unaware their candidate had a record until Monday night.

Also, relating to my above posts. I work for the gov't and am surrounded by left-leaning people, from devout truthers to soft liberals. I am on my own,but privately a few people do support me. About 3 weeks ago, right after Obama's Berlin stunt, I said that I would put $100 on a McCain win.No takers, just like here. Now that Palin has been chosen, I may have to give odds.
