I guess if they are old enough to work in a sweatshop they are old enough to compete in adult sporting event, eh China? They are just cogs in the Chinese machine...

Not at all! We have plenty of children that develop athletic abilities very early. We just don't try and cheat in the Olymics using them. If anything, I'm sorry that children in China are used in such a way. I suppose it's not as bad as it can get for some Chinese children though.
I am not a country. I thought the Chinese were suppose to be great scholars. I guess not so much huh? I live in Canada, and anyone who thinks Canada is a third world country, has to have some thing missing in the grey matter.
From what I've seen, China hasn't moved far beyond the club totting Neanderthals that solve problems with a bash to the head. Was there a major cull in the intelligentsia in that country or something? Taiwan, Tibet, student protest in Tiananmen Square. The Chinese still can't shake off a regime that has long since past the best before date.

Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia each held the Olympics. China isn't the worst nation in the history of the world here.
And Yes, there was. It was quite violent actually. The great leap forward.
The IOC and the world in general is breaking their back bending over backwards to appease China. The Olympics is a farce. What everybody really wants is China's business. China will become the biggest world market for everything. There is no time to worry about fairness in sports. I'm sure some western leaders envy the absolute power the Chinese government has over their citizens.
