gymnastics, swimming, some track and field, boxing, equestrian, and some others, can't think of more at the moment.

I don't agree with professional athletes playing in the olympics, I think they only did that to bring in more money, as they know more people will be interested.

I like the original format, 'amateurs' only, the pros have lots of money, and they keep the
amateurs from being there, and I just don't see the point, defeats the purpose I think.

It's just a show now.

I won't give them a second thought.

I wont be watching it, it holds no fascination for me,it is a relic of times gone by, and should no longer be considered a worthy cause, the moneys spent on these events could be better spent, in my opinion but that's just me ,the whole charade is to my mind a utter waste ,yes i admit that the athletes involved must get a seance of pride from the achievements, but i personally could not give a hoot, who wins or loses it is an elitist event set up to promote elitism.

Swimming is my favourite. And 1500 meters is my favourite of that, which lasts upward of 15 minutes. Usually they show the last 3 or 4 minutes of it, which misses all the tension and strategy of the event. Most people think its a total bore, most of the action takes place under water, and even with the underwater cameras its difficult to pick up the stroke and subtleties of the sport. But there you go. I like the rowing as well, especially the Men's 8's.

I try to avoid sports in which i assume virtually everyone who is competitive, is doped up. I won't name them.

I'll be watching the womens sports exclusively. There's nothing more exciting than sweaty women, in my opinion, especially if they're playing with balls.

Football, kayaking, rowing, cycling, many track and field events, tennis, many swimming events, and possibly some basketball, though. I'll most likely end up watching whatever event(s) are televised at the time I turn on the TV.

Tennis ooooh, they wear the cutest little skirts, and they sweat profusely and grunt when they strike the balls. Time for my medication I think, a cold shower and some pills, the exertion of competative sports always tires me like this.

Beav, the sport for you sounds like a hybrid. Womens gymnastics mixed with tennis. You get the floor routine with the provocative stretches and all the grunting and running and bouncing of a nubile young tennis player from a former Soviet state whose name ends with an A.

I'll watch whatever happens to be on when I'm watching it.

I like watching competition; people striving to be the best at just about anything. If they had tiddlywinks I'd probably watch it too.

I can relate to that completely. I'm itching for the hockey season, but I do lots of
chatting on the canuck. board, but they are mostly teen agers, and they haven't got
a clue they are talking to a grandma, when they chat with me, I call my self 'mousie',
(my husbands nickname), and they think I'm a guy, but a lot of it is senseless trash talk,
back and forth to each other, I try to save my chats for the 'adults', there are a few.

I wish Vancouver would give more airtime to sports other than the Canucks. That team has been basically terrible for 38 years, with the exception of a couple. I'm going to wait for them to earn my attention from now on.

Well, they get constant phone ins from people wanting to talk hockey, but I don't think
there would be as much right now, if the sundin situation wasn't being shoved down our
throats, I'm very tired of that story, I don't really care where he goes.
I'm looking forward to the team this fall, I like the changes Gillis has made, and he isn't
finished yet.
I don't watch hockey 'just' for the canucks, I watch the whole NHL, on center ice, so as much as I cheer for them and enjoy them, they aren't my only team, just my home team.
I have been following all the trades, free agent signings, the draft, etc., so my hockey
has gone all summer, but now I am itching for games again.

What no TSN, Sportsnet(West), I am surprised.
