Once again... if you were out when the deal was made, who had the go ahead to make this decision without your approval, or was this some hostile takeover?

Also, if CBC owns this site now, then wouldn't it be a conflict of interest to continue to have the CTV section still running on here? If I was with CBC, that would be one of the first things to go down.

Hmmm... Nothing on the CBC site in regards to purchasing the site.... not in the Canadian news section, the business section, or the arts & entertainment section..... I guess it's not that important I suppose. *tisk tisk* c'est si triste

ah if andem's pullin a fast one, then he started a few months ago in the staff forum. This isn't a complete surprise to us... Kreskin, myself, Karrie and a couple of previous mods made an attempt to come up with an offer but apparently we were a bit out of our league.

I congratulate Andem on the successful creation of an entity worth the attentions of the big boys, but still, having the announcement made today and the resulting and understandable skepticism just adds to the sting of our paltry attempts to keep this as is.

Kreskin - I'm sure their offer blew us right out of the water but I'd like to know by how much too... probably not kosher to ask on forum tho... :-|

Dear Members,

Canadian Content has recently been purchased by a Canadian media company well known throughout the country. The purchase was completed during my absense while I was in North America during March. With that, our logo has recently changed and the site will be undergoing a lot of work.

Due to the political nature of these forums and some material which is explicitly against the official policy of the new owner, the forums will be shut down indefinitely but some features such as profiles will be migrated to a new system.

It's been years and years since I started Canadian Content and I'm really sad to see it go, but I will however remain onboard as a consultant but no longer as administration. I'd like to wish you all the best and offer my thanks in having taken part in such a fun web site! Special thanks to the mods for their great work and support.

Hmmmmm.... perhaps.... or perhaps this is something which has occured in other forums I ventured into in the past where the entire mod team decides to PM/Contact one another to pull a fast one over us all and attempt to make it as elaborate as possible to make it sound real.

The thing that blows this out of the water, is when I was in forums in the past as well as other sites.... when something serious and real occured in regards to the future or function of a site near April fools.... April 1st is purposely avoided so that there was no confusion on the facts.

Until tomorrow rolls around, I am still not convienced.

(Too bad I'm not a mod in here.... I could have made it really good for you guys..... heck I could have even designed a few fabricated contracts in PDF format with notes of "Copy" and make it really good.... that's my job.)

If you look at the domain records I posted, you can clearly see that the CBC does not own this domain.

Isn't Cancon violating Canadian copyright laws by using the CBC's logo in an unauthorized manner? I'm going to e-mail them and find out. :lol:
