How can we get rid of our sinfulness?

M_levesque, if that is the case than, why does the Catholic church by your judgment require me to be a member of it before I can have fellowship in Christ's church?

Jesus tells me that all I have to do is come to Him and I shall be saved!

Sigh, twit. The Catholic church is THE Church founded by Christ. I don't find anything about Christ in any of your comments. I find only AJ's opinion. You wouldn't know Christ if He was standing in front of you.

There is no point in any further discussion with you. You are absolutely close minded and not able to see.

Sorry, but that is the way it is.

Kind of harsh, but saddly much the truth. Our friend is so lost in his own arrogance he cannot see the truth of Christ.

You know guys, my heart aches for you. I know the joy of knowing Christ such as you can not understand.

Have you noticed in all my postings that I don't require anybody to adhere to anything?

I just simply state that to come to Christ and accept Him as your savior is all you need.

I've also said come to Him as you are. You need not change anything, for if you do accept Jesus in your heart, He will change you. From the inside out.

If anyone knows Christ, it is I, for I believe as He believed, and that is that He came to save the lost, of which I was one of them.

I was blind, but now I see, I was lost, but now am found, for it is Jesus who made me whole, and my heart and life are His to lead and to guide me throught this life.

He abides with me daily, He prompts me to say what I say.

He says, love all souls, hate no one.

How much closer can one get to God than what I just said?

Can you know that you are secure in Jesus? Can you state that if you should die this instant that you will be welcomed in heaven?

Can you go to sleep each night knowing that your salvation is secure?

Can you go to Christ in a breath and expect an answer?

Can you kneel down in your closet, close the door and cry out to God to help you?

If you can answer all those things, without a doubt, then you know who Jesus is.

I seem arrogant to you all because I know in whom I believe, can testify of Him with such assurance, walk without fear amongst all the religions of the world, discuss with anybody their believes with compassion in my heart?

I quote scripture because I've read all of the scripture, studied them, prayed over them and experienced God's presences in my spirit!

I mean come on fellas, what more can one do to become a child of God? Join a church?

Go study your bibles, come back in six months and talk to me about what it says.

Let the church organization be what it is, but you take it upon yourselves to do on your own, research, study and see if you too will not experience a transformation of your hearts.

The world blinds us to the truth, and the physical church is in, guess where? The world!
Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

The god of this world is everything but God.

Actually, you quote the Gospel of AJ. No backing, no authority, just your own opinions, and that is what is most dangerous in the world of the Christian Body.

He's close minded? My goodness, you've claimed to speak for God himself! That is close-minded. what authority do you rely on without the Church? What AJ "thinks" God is telling him?

There ARE grey areas and yes, two humans can have brotherhood if their faith differs. Maybe YOU can't however...

That is not the point, you can always have fellowship with other people, but when it comes to the Church, there are no grey areas. Either you are in the Church, or you are not. You can't be in the middle.

Well... I was baptized as a Catholic, educated as a Catholic... my father is deeply catholic and I have great respect for him. However I stopped attending mass when I became an adult because I do not feel connected at all with most of the doctrines of the Church. My faith in the divinity of Christ is not solid. I don't disbelieve it but I can't say I believe it also... As far as I know I haven't been ex-communicated... I go to mass at Christmas with my family and nobody looks at me as if I didn't belong there...

So does that make me part of the catholic Church or not?

No. That is the approach of the world. You either are or you aren't. Belonging to any faith requires one to follow its full teachings. Problem we face in the Church today are the vast amounts of uncommitted "members" who feel an hour spent at Mass from time to time makes them Christians, or good people.

Real faith in Christ and through his Church requires a 24/7 level of living.
