I don't know what you believe and so long as you practice your humanity first I really don't care.

Would you argue that your response mirrored the tolerance and forgiveness of a loving compassionate god or would you suggest that anything that anyone else believes that you don't happen to subscribe to as your "belief" is simply wrong?

Are you off your meds again?
I have to laugh at the way this baffoon casually tosses snide insults at people who believe in God or some deity. Yeah sure Diddles, if anyone knows the mind of God, it must be some jobless mooch, addicted to sex and trolling the Internet quoting lameass Buddah snippets stolen from else where.

And you honestly don't know why people laugh at you. heh heh

ah the great pretender ...takes what he can from ole doc here and tosses it back at him ....could you please refrain from avoiding the topic and just post in defence of your stupidity...
I love a laugh!!!!!

Oh yes we must be very tolerant and forgive anything that Mocdred has to say because after all, he's trying his best. My belief hasn't been discussed here at all, so there is no possibility that anyone has or hasn't subscribed to it.

You forgot to mention the humanity part to your pal Daveydiddles though. Please take time to review. ;-)

Where's the satisfaction in carrying on this personality conflict in a public discussion forum?

Are you expecting that some will rush to your support or that you can draw "lines" between yourself and your apparent target?

Relax......

No those lines are pretty much drawn already.
But in life you can take a beating or you can fight back. I choose to fight back.

There is a source that is sort of like God. He or she or the energy creates this world. I do not know the details. I know that religion is man made based on some truth and some judgemental values.

My proof: Every religion believes there is a god. Yet, all of their image of gods is different. They all know that there is something exsit. When we judge people before we know them, we assume they are already like that. This judgement is the reason for how the different gods look like.

There are stuff that we do not understand. To the supernaturals, I call them unexplained energy. We are made of protons, neutrons, and electrons, and is formed by different energy. When we are able to communicate through feeling, the electron and the protons creates some sort of thing that let us communicate. God must be sort of like an energy. We interpret god differently because of our experiences and so that is why god is in many forms, but god is an energy and creator of our world.

I think the energy that creates us is like god.

I'm sad for you.

What's your rationale for intentionality?

I'm not arguing here please don't get me wrong, but creation without purpose seems a little odd.

If "things" (everything) was "created", purpose can be logically assumed.....

What makes the idea that everything that exists has always existed an unsupportable notion in your thinking?

Is there a god?

A question is as old as the first human being, and here today, we are still asking it?
Have we not come to a place in time after so many years of hand me downs, tried and true, and through sufferings and death, answers have being brought forward as a result of it?
Everybody has a religion whether their religion is a belief in a god or not.

Looking at the human history far back as we can find intelligence on it, can we not see the striving for some kind of spiritual escape, help or some comfort in some human made up god in order to satisfy the needs of the individual at the time?

Has not the revelation of the true God come forth in due time to the creatures of His creation as a true God worthy of recognition?

Has not this true God offered relief, hope, comfort and contentment in the midst of a hellish environment?

Has He not revealed Himself to be a God of forgiveness, sacrifice and one that promotes love amongst it’s neighbors?

If He is not that true God as revealed, then rightfully so, one could say there is no god!

What god claiming to be a creator of all would not save His own creation?

Understanding is that we were made like unto Himself, as free agents to practice the will to do good or to do evil.

Which of the two do we propose to take?

Does it take a believer in God to do the good? No! But it helps, in that God offers rewards to those who do place their faith in Him.

The whole concept of God then is, up to the individual based on when one was born, the environment of the times, the education available, and the circumstances of the times.

If one is born a Muslim, then that is the faith one would hold. If one is born a Catholic, then that is the faith one would hold.

What then is the common bond, thread amongst the diverse base of beliefs?

What can unite all believers and non believers alike?

Is it not love?

What God then demonstrated it to the world of Humanity?

Otherwise, where did love come from?

Truly, goodness is not a fleshly trait. Can you prove to me that goodness is a natural human trait?

I leave you with that thought.

The Power of a Supreme Deity or Creator - would be to me - the inexplicable nature of the force - and the necessary unquestioning belief system required to acknowledge such a power exists.

The more we try to equate this Power in human or man-like terms, we waste our time.

I'm pleased that your beliefs make you a better person. If you've found what "works" for you that's just swell...as long as you actualize those beliefs to the betterment of yourself and the rest of us...

I personally don't need a god or want a god or "gods", I'd far rather make myself accountable and responsible for everything I say do and believe....rather than imagining that I'm a being created at the whim of a creator....

I don't have a great deal of respect or "love" for the representation of "god" that the world's major religions tout as the ultimate bottom line....

Too crooked too rife with abuse and too vulnerable to be the work of a perfect being....

Um. The perfect world I suppose. The rationality is based on the facts:

Fact one: people believe in different things

Fact two: Everyone who belives in different religion believe there is a god or goddess-like person and those people always look different and act different.

Fact three: When we express anger and our mood, we like to use our experiences and the influences.

Fact four: People understand a lot of dimension stuff and they can't describe it.

Fact five: Everything is connected and seperated.

Fact / theory: Big bang creates the universe.

Logical thinking: The forces we express are not nessisary god, but the absolute power. The power is expressed as like the mini-saints or power below god. The definition of god is the perfection of all of the absolute power. To me, the force(s) that creates us from the big bang must be like god.

I hope that's clear. Thank you for reminding me about my language.

Tao Te Ching

Twenty-nine.

Do you think you can take over the universe and improve it?
I do not believe it can be done.

The universe is sacred.
You cannot improve it.
If you try to change it,you will ruin it.
If you try to hold it, you will lose it.

So sometimes things are ahead and sometimes they are behind;
Sometimes breathing is hard,sometimes it comes easily;
Sometimes there is strength and sometimes weakness;
Sometimes one is up and sometimes down.

Therefore the sage avoids extremes, excesses and complacency.

Isn't God or what I term Deity the appointment to the 'kingship or 'leadership' of humanity? And if so...

...why does life in our world have to be tied into religious belief with any one leader of humans?

Why aren't humans perfect enough (or will attain perfection eons from now) in their quest for survival and life?

Why does religion have to be the 'answer'.

I think religion is as flawed as the humans who practice it.

True! I am pleased that you are comfortable with your beliefs and that you and I can have a meaningful conversation even if we are at odds with our beliefs.
The bottom line is that I with my beliefs as strange as it may seem, in light of all the bad that has been done in the name of My God, I choose to honor the good that my God teaches me.

That good is that I love my neighbor as my self. It does not describe who my neighbor is, but it does say love my enemies and do good to them that despitefully use me, in demonstration of that goodness.

Thank you for understanding my point of view as I do yours.

Wow! a provocative observation and invitation to thought....

I don't know that human beings aren't perfect. I'm not sure what perfection looks like....

If "perfection" is unbounded contentment and happiness...then yes I suppose we're not "perfect", our actions as participants in this experience of existence don't seem to have led us up to this point in that direction....

What if perfection is a dynamic compromise between that which does not exhibit manifest or express as "life" and those things that do?

For everything that "exists" we can be reasonably certain that "it"...everything that "exists" is interconnected and far more similar to everything else that "exists" than the differences between these things that "exist"....

If our cellular structure is in fact product of genes and microbes and amino acids and all the "stuff" of what we regard as contributing to the corporeal "reality" we expeience ...is it fair to say that we are and have always been and perhaps always will be a "work in progress"?

I think religion is as flawed as the humans who practice it.

My understanding from the teachings of Jesus is that He said, "if you want to be great in the kingdom of God, you must be the servant of all".

The kingdom of God of course if one is able to understand what or where it is, then one can truly exercise that statement in the flesh, as one can enter into the kingdom of God while yet in the flesh.

What it all means is that there is no leader amongst His kingdom creatures but He Himself being the life of it.

The trying of the human soul is for the purpose of learning goodness and what love is.

Without the trial, there is no gain for the human soul.

Can love be demonstrated where there is nothing but love? No! There has to be some trespass of the soul to try it of what good it is.

Religion is just a vehicle by which many find comfort in even though some revert to hate and miss the calling completely.

The world is the garden where seeds are planted that good fruit may come of it.
The world has all the elements to sustain life, but it also kills life and gives us all the lusts of the flesh we desire.

But to live this life is just to exist, but to have God in one's life is to live above and beyond this life that makes this life worth living.

It promotes sacrifices to the next generations so that their lives may be better than ours.

So goes the body of humanity that one day will reach a state of perfection, when this world is completely conquers as a whole.
Individually, one can conquer this world simply by denying it's power over our souls and hoping for the better world of which life is the essence of it.

There you go AJ - giving us 'rules to live by' from Jesus.

I think the only successful peace we humans will attain will be at peace with ourselves and not having rules dictated by the various offshoots of those self-appointed people who have given themselves 'holiness' under God throughout the ages.

My conscience - my love for others - my honesty in all matters - and my dedication to my own best life is my religion. I don't need parables for example that nasty man Leviticus gave us spouting hell and damnation and punishment if I don't follow....

Thank you no - I am better than that. I am a work in progress as Mikey states. I will never attain Nirvana or Perfection - but that is my course set and I will follow it. Fall down - get up - learn from the adversity and continue - in faith.
