Littering is an easy and effective option for me.

The only way I will stop is if I get caught and fined one day, and then I will stop b/c the fine will make it no longer effective.

But I have not been fined yet!

I got out of my vehicle in a Tim Horton's line up once to throw some litter back into the car the folks threw it out of.

When you're driving, you're on public property. That's not your land to litter up... it's all of ours. That makes you an ass of ginormous proportions to not only display your disrespect to the rest of us by littering up our lands and roadways, but to come here and crow about it.

I agree with all the others who've stated in one way or another - that's gotta be one of the dumbest things you've ever posted. :angry3:

Wish I could drive my garbage over to your yard and dump it there.

Littering is a minor demeanor.

A by-law even.

Not even comparable to murder, arson, etc.

So your "break laws until you caught" analogy of me is flawed.

Smoking is slow suicide. Smoking around others is slow attempted murder. Smoking should be outlawed.

lots of things are slow suicide. Lard ass's eating buffets 4x a week, drunks drinking countless bottles of beer per week, johns sleeping with STD infested hookers and the list goes on. Let's outlaw all vices and make Canada the supreme nanny state.

After the heart attack I quit smoking, started riding my bicycle every day and stopped eating bad. I never drank much and recently cut way way back on smoking dope. I am so close to being goody two shoes it's a little scary. Thank the gods for lap dances.

There is a difference though. I don't care what someone else wants to do with their body...but if their actions affect my body, that's different. If someone wants to drink until their liver explodes, by all means, go ahead, knock yourself out. But, if you light a cigarette in a confined space, I suddenly lose the right to decide whether I want to smoke or not...I just end up smoking. Take it outside where it will at least disapate some. Don't force me to smoke just because your hooked on the crap.

The ability to light up a smoke in an indoor public space has been eliminated for the most part though, hasn't it?

My suspicions lean toward "pulling everyone's leg here." Even though the blatant and ruthless disregard for the environment, and the manifold life-forms it supports, sadly abounds, this seems like a put- on. It appears these contempible remarks are made just to see how much outrage they can engender. Anyone who rapes the planet with clear conscience is lacking awareness and intelligence.

I'll weigh in as a smoker. I like the laws. I think they should be tougher. I'd love to see cigarettes taken off the market, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon, something about liberty I'm guessing. When I'm in public places with friends or family, I don't really have the urge to light up. One place I do miss it is in the airports. I'm usually pretty frazzled when I'm traveling.

Not to hijack the thread further, but lwashburn is bang on. Seriously West, it would make more sense if you were saying those things just to be argumentative. I mean do you honestly think because you haven't been caught, or because your parents did it are good reasons to continue said practices? I really hope not. There is a solution, put the trash in a grocery bag and drop it off at the first stop.

It's funny if they were as bad as advertised, and posed the health risk as we have all been led to believe. (Yes i do believe they are) Then why not ban them outright! Give the farmers a one season assist to change there crops, and get the new equipment necessary for those crops. Voila problem solved! But cigarrettes are also a huge source of revenue, so the government won't axe them entirely without an alternative source of income. What other addictrion in the country could take it's place......COFFEE!!!!!
